Without leaving the campus, you can see the armor warriors in the insect world, the shovel armor. On May 6th, at the Second Campus of Jihong Primary School in Harbin, the "Mobile Museum" of Heilongjiang Provincial Museum brought the exhibition "Armor Warriors in the Insect World - Shovel Armor", which attracted the attention of the students and stimulated their curiosity about the insect world.
In order to better play the social education function of the museum and make the museum a "second classroom" for the majority of primary and secondary school students, the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum has "moved" the exhibition into the campus. The exhibition features more than 100 shovels of various colors and shapes.
Listening to the explanation, the children learned more about spade nails
At the exhibition site, the provincial museum mission staff explained in detail to the students from the aspects of the number of spade nails, living habits, and breeding. While listening carefully to the explanation, the students carefully observed the spade specimen with their eyes wide open and felt the magical charm of the natural world. The teacher also interacted with the students, and the students all rushed to answer the questions raised by the teacher, and the atmosphere was very lively.
The children watched with great interest these "armored warriors."
More than 100 shovels are of different colors
According to reports, there are more than 1,000 kinds of spade nails found so far, distributed all over the world, mostly in Southeast Asia, and there are about 300 species in China. The male spade carapace has a well-developed, antler-like shape, and can reach a length of up to 2 cm, almost the same length as its body. Its huge and powerful jaw is its weapon in battle with the enemy. Spade armor is an aggressive insect. Adults feed on liquid and honey, and larvae eat and inhabit decaying wood. Adults are more nocturnal, have phototropism, and are also daytime active species. Because of its large size and strange shape, it is loved and collected by the public, and is kept as a pet.
It is reported that the exhibition will be exhibited in Harbin Jihong Primary School Haxi No. 2 Campus until May 8.
