Stinging insects

The occurrence area of the plane wood square winged net bug has been expanding, gradually spreading from new areas such as high-tech, port affairs, and jingkai to the old city, and the old towns such as the new urban area, Yanta district, and Baqiao district have been found to be infested by the insect.
The occurrence of Luan polymorphic hairy aphid in autumn and winter was more serious than in 2018; the damage of Ziwei long spotted aphid lasted from spring to autumn, causing Ziwei coal pollution and polluting leaves and branches.
The occurrence of mites is also more serious than in previous years, and the leaves of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves and plum trees in some sections are affected by leaf mites and fall off in large quantities, or even all of them fall out. The degree of damage caused by ticks, whiteflies and other aphids is basically the same as in previous years.
Leaf-eating pests
The occurrence of the pale sword-striped nocturnal moth was serious, resulting in a large number of alopecias on the lawn; the occurrence of the national locust inchworm in some sections of the road was serious; the harm of brown scoop jumping beetles on the Privet showed an upward trend; and other leaf-eating pests such as the boxwood silk borer, the mulberry-winged inchworm, and the moon leaf bee did not change much compared with previous years.
Borer moth pests
The pest of the petiole moth of the national locust has increased year by year, resulting in a large number of compound leaves of the national locust falling off, and even the emergence of "bald shoots"; the damage of the Japanese double-spined beetle on the national locust has also shown an upward trend. Under the vigorous prevention and control of various greening units, the harm of various types of Tianniu has gradually decreased.
Underground pests and other pests
Pests such as snails, rat women, and horses are more common on the lawn; ants in some parks and green areas are more harmful; and the degree of harm of underground pests (grubs, golden needle worms, caddisflies, etc.) has not changed much.
Plant disease
In 2019, the more serious diseases occurred were various types of powdery mildew and monthly black spot disease; the incidence of coal pollution disease caused by aphids and aphid shell insects showed an upward trend; and the scope and degree of harm of other diseases (leaf spot disease, anthrax, brown spot disease, rust, etc.) did not change much compared with previous years.

Prediction of trends in the occurrence of pests and diseases
Since the beginning of winter in 2019, there has been no large-scale snowfall in Xi'an, no extreme low temperature, and the lowest temperature is -5 °C, which is a warm winter. Warm winter is an unfavorable factor for pest control, when the winter temperature is high, the population base of overwintering insects increases, which is not conducive to the control of diseases and insect pests in the coming year. In recent investigations, it has been found that the pests that overwinter in the form of larvae, such as the tianniu on the willow tree, the yellow poplar on the watercress box poplar, and the large bag moth on the fatong, are all active; the number of overwintering eggs of the Luan polymorphic hairy aphid that lays eggs in the bark crack is large; and the base number of the plane wood square-winged reticulated bug is large. Insects overwinter mainly with eggs in the branches, leaves and bark cracks of seedlings, which are highly resistant to cold. In the case of warm winter, various diseases and pests not only increase the number of overwintering, but also start to harm in advance, which requires the close attention of various greening departments.
Current crop protection work
According to the actual situation of the recent investigation of pests and diseases, combined with the characteristics of this winter's gas, the garden plant protection work can start from the following aspects:
Strengthen the clearance garden and remove the wintering places for pests. In addition to pruning the dead branches and dead leaves of the seedlings, pay attention to cleaning the bark of the old trees on some seedlings. Pruned dead leaves, weeds, dead grass, dead bark, etc. are cleaned up and destroyed centrally.
Timely treatment of pruning wounds to prevent pest invasion and frost damage. Branches with a diameter of more than 3 cm should be pruned with an applicator to avoid the invasion of pests and bacteria and reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases in the coming year.
Strengthen plant protection monitoring and timely carry out prevention and control. After the early spring warms up, the first wave of prevention and control is crucial.
