According to Brazilian website Meu Timao, The son of Arsenal's new sporting director Edu, Luigi Gaspar, will join the Gunners' academy.
Edu played as a midfielder for Arsenal between 2001 and 2005, making 79 appearances for the team, including 30 in the 2003-04 unbeaten champions league season. Earlier this month he returned to the Gunners as sporting director, helping the club sign young Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli and French defender Saliba on loan, while Nicolas Pepe was also almost certain to join the team.
Luigi plays as an attacking midfielder, only 15 years old this year, playing in the Corrintian academy of the Baliga. He has bid farewell to the club on his own Instagram, writing: "It is an honour for me to play for Corinthians and I have won many accolades here. I grew up here and became who I am today. My heart belongs to Corinthians. Thank you again for everything at the club and I will be forever grateful to you all. ”
