The early death of a beautiful and elegant princess is limited or man-made? The dead are gone, and the living are robbed. Because of her death, there was an uproar inside and outside the court: more than twenty imperial doctors were beheaded, more than three hundred relatives were implicated in prison, and dozens of loyal ministers were exiled to other places, stirring up the inside and outside of the court, and complaining. And what is the reason for all this? Sweeping away the dust of history, a faint and absurd Tang Dynasty emperor was revealed...
Li Yi was the eldest son of Emperor Xuanzong Li Chen, who ascended the throne in the thirteenth year of Da Zhong (859), known in history as Emperor Yizong of Tang, reigned for 15 years, was extravagant and lascivious, did not think of making progress, favored eunuchs, and completely extinguished a little light of hope that had been rekindled during Xuanzong's reign.
Li Yi had always been trembling when he was crown prince, because Li Chen did not have much good feelings for this eldest son. Therefore, Li Yi, the King of Yun, felt that only by sleeping in the arms of a beautiful person could he temporarily forget the feeling of panic and depression. At that time, among all the concubines, the one who could most understand and comfort him was the beautiful and gentle Guo Ji, and Li Yi had a deep affection for Guo Ji. In 849, Li Yi and Guo Ji's daughter Li Meiling was born. After Li Yigui became the Son of the Tang Dynasty, Guo was given the title of Lady Concubine, and Mei Ling became the Princess of Tongchang.
Tang Yizong Li Yi especially favored Princess Tongchang, why was this so? There is a legend here.
Tang Yizong Li Yi had a total of eight daughters, Princess Tongchang, who was not only born beautiful, but also gentle and quiet, and versatile. It is said that the first thing she would say was to comfort her father.
Princess Tongchang did not say a word until she was three or four years old. One day, she suddenly sighed and said the first words of her life to her father: "Today I can live." Just when the parents were confused and confused by their daughter's words, the honor guard that welcomed Li Yu to the throne as emperor arrived in front of the yun king's palace.
Whether this story is true or not, we do not examine it, in short, Li Yi, who was overjoyed, has since regarded his daughter as a pearl in his hand. Speaking of which, Princess Tongchang is indeed worthy of the love of her parents, she is not only beautiful as a flower, but also skillful, in addition to piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, she is also good at cutting embroidery. According to records, she was able to embroider three thousand colorful Mandarin ducks on a normal-sized quilt.
When Princess Tongchang reached the age of marriage, Li Yi and Princess Guo Shufei chose thousands of choices, and finally selected Wei Baoheng, a new scholar, to be Princess Tongchang's horse. Wei's horse is not only handsome and personable, but also talented. But what is hidden under that beautiful exterior?
On the day the princess was married, the dowry given by Tang Yizong could simply open a treasure house in Wei's family, including crystal mica, glass tortoiseshell, rhinoceros ivory, pearl jade gemstones, etc. Countless others, and there were also rare golden turtles, silver deer, gold watches, silver millets, ruyi pillows, crane magpie pillows, dragon and phoenix tents, nine jade Qin, QinSemu, Wen cloth towels, fire silkworm clothes, etc., as for gold and silver coins, Ayaluo silk and luxury furniture utensils, not to mention. After these things were moved to the Wei family, the Wei family's original spacious mansion could not be installed, so they had to invite craftsmen to expand the mansion day and night to settle all this. Tang Yizong's favor for Princess Tongchang can be seen.
Wei Baoheng married the wife of this golden branch and jade leaf, and she was completely glorious. In the past two years, he has been promoted almost non-stop, starting with the Hanlin Bachelor, rising to Langzhong, Zhongshu Sheren, Bingbu Shilang Chengzhi, Founding Marquis, and all the way to the JixianDian University Scholar, and at a young age, he was in a high position of Zaifu.
But unfortunately, the good times did not last long.
In the second year of the princess's marriage, because she was unfortunately infected with illness since she was weak, the Wei family searched for famous doctors and strange medicines, and spared no expense to keep this shady tree, but Princess Tongchang's illness never improved, dragging until the early autumn of the eleventh year of Xiantong (870), and the poor Princess Tongchang came to the end of her life.
The royal princess who was like a flower and a jade, who had been married into the Wei family for less than four years, actually died of incense, which upset the people of the Wei family, who did not care about mourning the dead Princess Tongchang, but the whole family gathered to discuss how to explain to the emperor. In order to shirk his responsibility, Baoheng, with a heartbroken look, went to the palace to report the death of the princess, while gently describing the situation before the princess's death, he also scolded the imperial doctors for improper diagnosis and mistakenly throwing medicine stones.
Upon learning of his beloved daughter's death, the mournful Tang Yizong accepted all of his words to the donkey, blamed his daughter's death on the head of the imperial doctor, and immediately ordered that All the imperial doctors who had treated princess Tongchang, including Han Zongshao, beheaded all the imperial doctors who had treated the disease. At the same time as more than two dozen heads fell to the ground, more than three hundred of their relatives were also implicated in the crime, and all of them were imprisoned in Jingzhao.
Tang Yizong's unkind deeds in the midst of his grief caused a lot of discussion inside and outside the imperial court, and the whole country was indignant.
Zhongshu Shilang and Tongping Zhangshi Liu Zhan believed that the emperor's move was bound to bring disaster to the imperial court. Although more than twenty imperial doctors have died and cannot be revived, if the relatives of the more than three hundred imperial doctors are released, they may be able to appease the people's unhappy hearts. So Liu Zhan summoned the counselors and instigated them to play the advice, but these counselors were well aware of Yizong's moody temper and feared--at this time, entering the counsel was tantamount to a moth to put out a fire, so they were all silent. Liu Zhan saw that these people were useless, so he had to personally play to Tang Yizong as Zaifu, saying that it was difficult to move the blessings and the manpower was difficult to return to heaven. Now that more than 300 people, young and old, are being imprisoned, and people in the world are talking about it, there are many grievances, and those implicated should be forgiven!
Liu Zhan's lyrics were reasonable and impeccable, but Tang Yizong had already determined that the imperial medicine had killed his beloved daughter and ignored his qi song. Liu Zhan also joined forces with Jing Zhao, Yin Wenzhang, to commit Yan Zhizhi's advice, and the wording was even more intense. This angered Tang Yizong, who loudly rebuked the two of them, and immediately surrendered his orders, Liu Zhan was transferred to Jingnan Jiedushi, and Wen Zhang was demoted to Sima of Yazhou, and ordered to leave Beijing within three days to take up his post. Wen Zhang, a talented minister with a straight personality, was extremely sad and disappointed by Tang Yizong's actions, and committed suicide by taking poison at home that night. When Tang Yizong heard the news of Wen Zhang's death, he also said fiercely: "Evil is full of glory, and there is more than enough to die!" ”
However, the matter did not end there, after Liu Zhan left Chang'an for his post, Wei Baoheng colluded with another Zaifu Luyan and fabricated all kinds of false accusations, relegating more than thirty of Liu Zhan's protégés to the remote and desolate Lingnan. Later, they insisted that Liu Zhan conspired with the imperial doctor to kill Princess Tongchang, and Emperor Yizong relegated Liu Zhan, who was the emissary of Jingnan Jiedushi, to the history of Kangzhou. After all this had calmed down a little, Yizong held a grand burial ceremony for his beloved daughter. The day before the Lantern Festival in 871, the funeral was held as scheduled. The mausoleum is naturally very luxurious and spectacular, and the costumes and utensils of the funeral are even more dazzling, filling the tomb pit, and the funeral scene is so large that it is by no means comparable to the princesses of previous generations.
After that, Wei Baoheng was even more soaring, and when he finally returned to the west with his life two years later, when he was dying, he actually issued a will, allowing Wei Baoheng to act as the regent of his twelve-year-old son Li Yu and handle military affairs with full authority. However, Wei Baoheng, who has committed many evil deeds and has poor moral character, will only show off his cleverness and blame others, and he simply does not have the ability to command and hold power. Only three months later, Wei Baoheng was demoted to the rank of Chengmai County Commander of Yazhou and killed on the way to exile.
Although it caused such a furious incident, no matter whether Masashi Noshi mentioned Princess Tongchang, there was still no slightest denigration of her character. She must have been a wonderful and good woman, but she was married to a schemer and a fainting father.
