After iOS 17, 3D Touch is finally back...
The performance of next year's A17 chip is not as good as the first launch
Foreign media MacRumors reported that there are differences between the A17 Bionic processor on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max launched this year and the A17 version launched next year: the former uses TSMC's N3B process, while the latter uses an enhanced N3E process.
The A17 Bionic produced this year adopts the N3B process, and the high-density SRAM bit cell size is only 0.0199μm², which is said to be specially designed for Apple, exclusive to Apple, compared with the N5 process to improve in all aspects, but the disadvantage is high cost and low yield. The N3B process, nominally an enhanced version, is actually a somewhat "cheaper" version than the N3B, with an SRAM cell size of 0.021 μm², which is exactly the same as the N5. This means that in order to improve yield, TSMC's N3E process produces chips that are not as good as N3B, and their energy efficiency may be worse, but the cost is reduced.

Vision Pro turns any surface into a touch screen
The visionOS 1 Beta update brings new capabilities to make any surface a touch-enabled screen by creating controls and screens. The user selects a surface in the headset's field of view to place any application and can interact visually.
With this feature, the Vision Pro headset can be a kitchen tool to more intuitively set different countdowns for different kitchen appliances. If users need to deal with multiple kitchen tasks such as frying, pressure cooker, barbecue, etc., visionOS supports placing timers directly on these kitchen appliances, allowing users to intuitively know how much time is needed.

The Netherlands will restrict ASML lithography machine exports
The Dutch government plans to issue new export controls as soon as next week, which will restrict the export of ASML's semiconductor manufacturing equipment. THE EXPORT CONTROL LIST ADDS DEEP ULTRAVIOLET (DUV) IMMERSION LITHOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT SUCH AS TWINSCAN NXT:2000i, NXT:2050I, AND NXT:2100i. These devices can support processes up to 5 nm, such as TSMC, which achieved 7 nm mass production using SAQP and argon-fluorine immersion (ArFi) lithography. ASML's state-of-the-art extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines are on export control lists.
The new export control rule, which will be published as early as June 30 or the first week of July, could be followed by other EU member states. This is the latest move since the Netherlands and Japan agreed in principle in January to join the United States in restricting exports of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment to Chinese mainland, and Dutch Trade Minister Schreinemacher said that the Netherlands needs to restrict the export of advanced semiconductor technology as soon as possible for national and international security reasons.

The US-TSMC plant covered up the safety incident with shooting drills
TSMC's U.S. factory buildings did not meet U.S. safety standards, and multiple loads fell off the crane and hit a worker; 4 workers fall off scaffolding. A worker representative said the Apple chip foundry was the most unsafe place he had seen in his 17 years in the business.
In another accident, TSMC, in order to cover up a dangerous gas leak, informed employees that a shooting drill was underway and asked to evacuate the area as soon as possible. After the employees left the area, they discovered that it was a dangerous gas leak. Now employees no longer trust TSMC.

Blizzard banned Chinese mainland players from participating in Diablo 4 events
It's been a full 5 months since Blizzard's national server game was closed, but the launch of Diablo 4 gave Blizzard great courage. Blizzard held a series of events for Diablo 4, one of which is to permanently preserve player records - in Diablo 4's HC hardcore mode, players who have reached the full level (level 100) of the top 1,000 around the world can permanently engrave their game tags (equivalent to game ID names) on the statue of the venerable Virgin Lilith.
However, the event conditions are still very blizzard, and Blizzard officials said in the follow-up attachment that domestic players are not allowed, but Asian servers and global servers are not restricted.
