At Tencent Cloud's most important global digital ecology conference every year, the mysterious Tencent hybrid model has finally arrived. "Mixed elements, officially unveiled for the industry." Tang Daosheng, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent Group and CEO of Cloud and Smart Industry Business Group, announced on September 7, "Tencent's hybrid model has a scale of more than 100 billion parameters, and the pre-training corpus exceeds 2 trillion tokens. At present, MixYuan has been extensively docked and integrated with Tencent's products, and has been applied in multiple business lines such as Tencent Cloud, Tencent Advertising, Tencent Meeting, Tencent Docs, and WeChat Sou. ”
Taking the Tencent Meeting + Mixed Element model as an example, users only need simple natural language instructions to complete complex tasks such as meeting information extraction and content analysis, and generate intelligent summary minutes after the meeting. According to actual measurements, the mixed element large model has achieved a high user adoption rate in many aspects such as instruction understanding, in-meeting Q&A, meeting summary, and meeting to-do items.
In fact, people in the industry did not hear the name of the hybrid model today and understand its functions, but at the Tencent Global Digital Ecology Conference, the hybrid was the first time to be the protagonist. To demonstrate, Jiang Jie, vice president of Tencent Group, spent a lot of time demonstrating the ability of hybrid elements to reduce hallucinations and generate ultra-long text.
According to Jiang Jie, in response to the problem that large models are prone to "gibberish", Tencent optimized the pre-training algorithm and strategy, so that the illusion of mixed element large models was reduced by 30%-50% compared with mainstream open source large models. Through the method of reinforcement learning, the model can learn to identify trap problems; Through the optimization of position coding, the processing effect and performance of ultra-long text are improved. A new strategy of thinking chain is proposed, so that large models can reason and make decisions in combination with practical application scenarios like people. Specific to functions, mixed-element large models can be used for content creation, logical reasoning, etc.
A reporter from Beijing Business Daily inquired about the official website of the Cyberspace Administration of China and found that the Tencent Mixed Element Assistant large model appeared in the second batch of domestic deep synthesis service algorithm filing list, and the list also included Tencent Cloud intelligent digital sapiens algorithm, Tencent Cloud AI painting algorithm, Tencent Cloud multi-industry customer service scenario large model, etc.
No rush
Compared with its peers in the technology circle, Tencent is more cautious about large models. On March 16, Baidu large model product Wen Xin launched the invitation system internal test. In the same month, version 1.0 of the 360 Wisdom Brain Model was unveiled. In early April, Alibaba Cloud's self-developed large model "Tongyi Qianwen" began to invite users to test the experience, followed by the iFLYTEK Spark cognitive large model in May. According to incomplete statistics, there are currently more than 100 large models in China.
From the perspective of rhythm, Tencent's action is not fast. In early August, Tencent's hybrid model entered the company's application testing stage. Tencent employees who receive internal email requests can experience the hybrid model through the webpage or mini program. It is understood that the mixed element large model supports text input and voice input, can generate Xiaohongshu grass copywriting, short video scripts, community marketing text, friend circle copywriting, etc., and supports cyberpunk, pixel illustration, mosaic and other styles of AIGC (artificial intelligence generated content) painting generation.
For rhythm, Tencent has its own ideas. Returning to the current big model competition, Tencent Cloud's launch of MaaS (Model as a Service) in mid-June is already the most representative event. This solution can provide customers with large model solutions such as model pre-training, model fine tuning, and intelligent application development. Enterprises can add their own data to generate exclusive models based on the built-in large models of the Tencent Cloud TI platform, or select model services with different parameters and specifications according to their business scale. At that time, Tencent Cloud's Industry Select Model Store provided more than 50 solutions covering 10 industries.

On September 7, Tencent once again emphasized that the hybrid model will serve as the foundation of Tencent Cloud's MaaS (Large Model as a Service) service, and customers can directly call the hybrid element through APIs (application programming interfaces), or use the hybrid element as the base model to build exclusive applications for different industry scenarios.
According to the latest financial report, the revenue of "financial technology and enterprise services", which represents Tencent's toB business, increased by 15% year-on-year to 48.6 billion yuan in the second quarter of 2023, accounting for 32% of the total revenue. Enterprise services revenue improved in this segment to achieve low double-digit year-over-year growth, driven by revenue from live streaming transactions on Channels and slight growth in cloud services.
