A second-degree fire broke out at a three-story home in Dempsey Crescent, near Bayview Avenue and York Mills Road, just after 6 a.m. Thursday, the Toronto Fire Department said. It is reported that this is a mansion that has just been built and is being put up for sale.

According to CityNews, the Toronto Fire Department said firefighters arrived to find that the three-story home under construction had been surrounded by flames and that the roof had collapsed, and immediately took defensive measures to extinguish the fire.

Jordan Kerr, a traffic reporter for CityNews 680 who was flying a helicopter over the scene, said the house appeared to be completely scrapped.

"I saw that most of the building's façade was still there, but everything inside was charred and looked like a basement," Kerr reported. There's still a lot of smoke here, so I'm not sure how far the fire will spread.
There is no information yet on the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
