According to sources such as the Observer, a Chinese company in Michigan has recently been halted in building a factory, and the incident has even triggered a "political storm" in the local area.

According to reports, Gotion, a subsidiary of Chinese company Gotion that focuses on battery technology development, plans to build a factory in Greenchart, Michigan, because the project could attract $2.4 billion in investment and provide more than 2,000 jobs. The project is backed by the Michigan state government, which was "officially announced" by Governor Whitmer last year, and approved by the U.S. Treasury Department after a period of "security checks." In September, the state of Illinois confirmed that Gotion would invest $2 billion to build a "gigafactory" in the region, a project that Governor Pritzker praised as "a historic investment in decades."

However, the town of Greenchart has seen a lot of change, as residents "recalled" five officials who supported Gotion's project last month, and a new mayor, Crews, came to power, and in December, Cruise halted the project on the grounds of "environmental concerns" and "Guoxuan ownership".

In response, Tren, vice president of Gotion North America, said that he had communicated with Cruise and had not changed his plans to build the factory. However, as the 2024 U.S. election approaches, public opinion believes that some anti-China lawmakers in the U.S. are trying to suppress Chinese companies investing in the United States, including CATL, which has joined forces with Ford, and has also become a target for anti-China politicians such as Rubio.

In addition, since the beginning of this year, anti-China politicians in the United States have been hyping up the news that the so-called "Chinese have purchased a large amount of land in the United States." Florida and other states in the United States have begun to consider restricting foreign capital in buying land, and there are even those specifically aimed at Chinese and promulgating that "Chinese are not allowed to buy." Some Chinese citizens have filed lawsuits against such measures with clear discriminatory intent, but they have also been dismissed.

Just recently, the United States just ushered in the 80th anniversary of the repeal of the infamous "Chinese Exclusion Act", and Biden also issued a statement at the White House to condemn the "Chinese Exclusion Act". I still remember that in 2011, the U.S. Congress apologized for the "Chinese Exclusion Act", and now after more than 10 years, Biden has condemned the "Chinese Exclusion Act". However, the outside world believes that Biden is actually just putting on a show and trying to win over Chinese voters when the election comes, and the issue of discrimination in the United States, especially the position of making it difficult for China, has not changed.

Today's China is booming and becoming more and more open and confident, but the United States has begun to become "closed off from the rest of the country", and the United States looks "uneasy" about Chinese companies, investments, and even individuals. As the world's largest "matrix empire", the United States must call it "national security" and use this as an excuse to suppress Chinese technology companies.

By doing so, the United States will not benefit itself at all. Moreover, the behavior of the United States also highlights its own lack of self-confidence. In the face of China's development, the United States looks twisted and restless. However, this will not affect China, and China will continue to follow its own path of development.
