After the 6.2-magnitude earthquake in Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, 50-year-old Ma Ming, a driver with more than 20 years of truck driving experience in Yinchuan, Ningxia, and a veteran of the Communist Party of China, learned in the truck driver exchange group that the disaster area was in urgent need of trucks to transport all kinds of relief materials, so he took the initiative to contact the relevant departments. On the evening of the 19th, under the unified arrangement, Ma Ming loaded the relief materials of the Red Cross Society of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region overnight to help the earthquake-stricken area of Jishishan, drove more than 600 kilometers from Yinchuan City to Jishishan County, and delivered the relief materials safely at noon the next day. In the next few days, under the dispatch of the local authorities, Ma Ming and many truck drivers from all over the country traveled day and night from Lanzhou, Linxia and other places to various resettlement sites in the disaster area.
"In 2008, I participated in the transportation of relief materials for the Wenchuan earthquake, and this time I did not dare to delay at all, in order to allow the affected people to move from the tent to a warmer temporary 'new home' as soon as possible, I have pulled a total of 5 prefabricated houses in the past few days, which is also the responsibility of each of our truck drivers. In Ma Ming's view, the wheels are full of expectations of the people in the disaster area.
As the resettlement of the affected people in Gansu Province has shifted from emergency temporary resettlement to fixed transitional resettlement, local transportation, housing and construction departments have opened green channels to speed up the transportation and installation of prefabricated houses, and make every effort to ensure that the affected people are warm in winter.
