In the hotels of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, there has always been a rumor: the resort hotels of Qiandao Lake are only Intercontinental and others. As a result, I have always been very curious about this hotel.
So, in the middle of the week of December, with the double 11 hoarding package, I went to Qiandao Lake for a small vacation, and by the way, I arranged the write-off report. Let's talk about the conclusion first: It's fragrant! This worker has finally eaten fine chaff!
Good hardware can be newly created, but the position of the king must be the first. Qiandao Lake Intercontinental is located on the Xianshan Peninsula, and there is only one hotel on the island, which is quite a bit of "one island and one hotel".
It takes about 40 minutes to take a taxi from Qiandao Lake high-speed rail station to the hotel. Driving on the private highway, passing through the triumphal arch, passing by the lighthouse of the sign, the first photo I played with the Qiandao Lake Intercontinental was amazing, a beautiful landscape painting in the south of the Yangtze River!
Intercontinental is the kind of "hotel itself is the destination" existence in Qiandao Lake, which is far from the town, so food, accommodation and entertainment all revolve around the hotel itself. In fact, the privacy of a vacation depends on the physical sense of "isolation".
The environment of the whole hotel is like a big park by the lake, and when I went there, it was still strong in autumn, ginkgo yellow, maple red, and a very beautiful metasequoia. Miraculously, you can still smell the fragrance of osmanthus in December.
Autumn and winter are the off-seasons for Qiandao Lake, but not intercontinental. The hotel has hot springs both indoors and outdoors.
The outdoor hot spring is under the osmanthus tree, and you can also see the lake view. If you can encounter a snow, the romantic atmosphere is definitely full.
There is also a hidden buff to live in the off-season, that is, if you move in on weekdays, you will be upgraded. Like me, I hoarded a lake view room, and directly gave it to the top administrative lake view (but did not include administrative courtesy).
Intercontinental opened 11 years earlier, in fact, it has been open for some years, so the layout of the room is decent and not outstanding. However, there is not much sense of age, and the wood + stone materials are still enduring after so many years.
The most extravagant thing in the room is the view of the lake on a whole wall. Half indoors and half outdoors. Even in autumn and winter, you can lie flat by the open and warm window, and the background is the calm Qiandao Lake. Sometimes you can see the hotel's wellness yachts gliding across the lake, causing ripples on the lake.
The welcome amenity in the room was dessert and fruit, while the goodnight treat was milk and jujube soup in a thermos cup. The mini-bar is free of charge.
The equipment is Intercontinental standard Byredo, a brand from Sweden, and I particularly like the light citrus scent. If it's in a small bottle, I must have stuffed it into my suitcase.
At a resort, the most important thing is to have plenty of activities. There is only one hotel in the entire Xianshan Peninsula. This also means that the entire Xianshan Peninsula is a public area of the Qiandao Lake intercontinental. There are a lot of free outdoor activities at the hotel.
Cycling along the lakeside is the basics, and bicycles and helmets are provided.
It was also excellent to hike to the Intercontinental Lighthouse and wait for a sunset. It's also a great place to fly planes, and I see a lot of uncles and aunts operating drones, which is really a nourish retirement life.
By the way, there are actually many places in the hotel where you can watch the sunset, and the moon platform in the lobby is also a classic position. Every time I enter the lobby, I can't help but stop here.
The sunset framed under the starry sky promenade is a realistic ink painting.
A little further afield, there is also a hydrophilic platform. The golden sunset I squatted here is not inferior to the West Lake. The reserved program at the Qiandao Lake Intercontinental is to wait for a sunset.
Speaking of activities, visiting the Xianshan Botanical Garden is also one of the free outdoor activities. There are a lot of rare plants on the mountain, and there are small signs next to them. There is also a strawberry picking garden, which costs an additional fee.
There is also a very unpopular climbing route, which has to be found by the staff. I don't know how to twist and turn to another world, there is a realistic version of the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon stone carving, and there is only one person through the Lover's Gorge, a bit like climbing Hangzhou's gem mountain.
There are also plenty of indoor activities at the hotel. The outdoor infinity pool in autumn and winter is not open, you can go indoors. There is also a gym, spa, yoga, and a pottery room.
There is a popular paid activity, which is to take a health yacht to climb the nearby Huangshan Jiandao. It makes sense to call it a health care speedboat, blowing a hot air conditioner, sitting on a soft leather sofa, and charging on the yacht.
After ascending the Huangshan Jiandao, you can take the cable car directly to the viewing point. You can also choose to climb up, and it is still a bit of a snack to climb the mountain, and there are too many steps. If you are bringing elders or babies, you should choose the cable car.
When you arrive at the viewing platform at the top of the mountain, you will be greeted by a textbook-level view of the Thousand Island Lake, and there is an island that is still I-shaped. It's not cheap to do this, the speedboat is 300/person, and the cable car in the scenic area is 50/person.
Next, let's talk about the hotel meals.
Breakfast is in the all-day dining restaurant, which is a buffet, both Chinese and Western. The stalls are made to order, including local Qiandao Lake rice cake, as well as pancakes and fruits, wontons, soup/mixed noodles, etc., which are the standard level of five-star hotels.
The main meals are all solved in the Xian Chinese restaurant, and the local dishes of Qiandao Lake are made.
Qiandao Lake fish head is a signature dish, serving is very ceremonial, you must first use a pair of gold-inlaid scissors to "cut the ribbon", the fish soup is naturally fresh, needless to say, Qiandao Lake fish head has always been famous.
Other braised pork, scrambled eggs, and fried green beans are also very much in line with the taste of Zhejiang people. The point is that the price is not expensive, the per capita is in the early 100s, and the cost performance is quite high.
In addition to the hotel's own Chinese restaurant, there is also a Xianshan restaurant, which is also a local dish, and the taste and environment are more wild than the Xian Chinese restaurant.
The signature chopped pepper Qiandao Lake fish head is spicy that Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai people can't bear, but it's spicy and happy.
Xianshan Hotel's reputation in Qiandao Lake should be not bad, and there are many guests who are not in-house guests and come to eat by car.
I also observed that the hotel is really parent-friendly as well. From Friday to Friday, it can be seen that there are many families with guests.
Inside there is a very large children's playground with an area of 1800 square meters. When I went to visit, I didn't want to leave when I saw a baby rolling around.
Outdoors, there is a small train around the lake around the hotel, with its own stereo, and it will also play the lonely brave who is the favorite of primary school students, and it will take about 20 minutes to go around, and adults and children can sit.
You can also feed rabbits and ducks. Sprinkle a handful of feed in the middle of the lake, and the ducks will smell the wind, and the children and adults will be happy to feed it.
I also went to visit the parent-child room, and the details were too good.
The room anticipates all the things your baby might need: sterilizer, bed circumference, bumper strips, silicone baby shampoo cap, baby toilet mat, booster pad...... I believe parents will understand it at a glance.
The area by the window is also made of tatami mats, which is very friendly to the second-child family, and the two babies can enjoy themselves.
When eating breakfast, there will also be special baby tableware provided.
Overall, InterContinental Qiandao Lake is a hotel that is suitable for both couples and families. The off-season is a good time to travel, and the service will not be unable to keep up.
