Huangyan 36 Hotel, located on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, a World Heritage Site, recently signed a cooperation agreement with Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ (SLH), the world's top small hotel alliance, and will officially become the 20th member of SLH in Chinese mainland and the first member in Xiamen on September 1, 2024.
Huangyan 36 Hotel has recently started trial operation and will officially open to the public in the summer of 2024. The name of the hotel is derived from its address, which is located at No. 36 Huangyan Road, Gulangyu Scenic Area, close to Sunshine Rock and John Ma Stadium. Originally built in 1921, the building is a typical Veranda Style brick and timber structure that incorporates features of Nanyang architecture. The building is a combination of two structures with plastered facades and double corridors facing south and northwest. The pillars of the building are thick, the arches are deep, the column body and the arch part are decorated with simple lines, and the corner columns are staggered with stone veneer, which increases the texture and detail changes of the building. The European-style arch window design is very exotic, and the stacked eaves and large corridors make the overall building appear thick and straight, simple and generous.
The hotel has 9 spacious and luxurious rooms in retro Nanyang style, including 8 double rooms and 1 queen suite. Each room has a terrace for the tranquility and comfort of a secluded private home. In the courtyard, there is a new Chinese tea outdoor restaurant, a western restaurant and bar. More than 2,000 square meters of outdoor gardens and lawns can also accommodate small outdoor banquet events. Huang Yan 36 Hotel aims to create a secluded Nanyang private residence, bringing a unique and unforgettable personalized stay experience to each guest.
