The main residence of the Tu nationality is in Huangbei Mutual Aid, Minhe, Datong, Ledu, Tongren and other counties in Qinghai, and a small number of people live in the area of Tianzhu County in Gansu Province, with a population of more than 240,000, mainly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. The historical origin of the Tu nationality is related to the integration of the Qiang, Tibetan, Dangxiang and Mongolian ethnic groups, but the main ethnic origin is Tuyuhun, which has a very long history. The folk culture of the Tu people is rich and colorful, with distinctive characteristics.
More than 70 villages in Minhe County have been famous for holding many projects such as the 63-day harvest Naton Festival, the Yuwu dance of the Tongren County temple fair, the Minmei Pan Embroidery and the sports competition wheel autumn in Huzhu County, all of which have been famous and included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of the country and Qinghai Province. Wheel autumn is a sports performance activity created by the Tu people in their working life, the equipment is developed from the initial use of the wheel, the activity is widely loved by the Tu men, women and children, and has become a unique landmark activity of the Tu people.
