Power's vehicle reliability studies cover the entire automotive industry, covering 184 automotive quality issues in 9 problem categories (air conditioning, driver assistance, driving experience, body appearance, configuration/handling/instrument panel, infotainment, interior, powertrain, and seats). It examines car owners who have owned their cars for three years and who have experienced vehicle problems in the past 12 months. Overall reliability is measured by the average number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), with lower scores indicating better quality.
