World Treasure Day
Parkinson's disease is a common neurochronic degenerative disease that cannot be cured, and its incidence is increasing year by year with the aging of the population, and the disease is also showing a trend of younger people. The three main causes of Parkinson's disease are: aging, environmental factors, and genetic factors, and Parkinson's disease has become the "third killer" of middle-aged and elderly people after tumors and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. At present, there are nearly 3 million Parkinson's disease patients in China, and the number of new patients reaches more than 100,000 every year, so the prevention and treatment of Parkinson's disease and the popularization of science have a long way to go.
April 11, 2024 is the 28th World Parkinson's Disease Day, and this year's theme is "Living in Harmony, Better Life". In order to popularize Parkinson's disease-related knowledge, strengthen the public's understanding of the disease, achieve early diagnosis, early treatment, early benefit, and reduce the disability rate, the Fourth People's Hospital of Yancheng City carried out Parkinson's Day publicity and free clinic activities in the outpatient hall on the first floor on the morning of the 11th.
The Department of Neurology and the Department of Public Health jointly participated in this free clinic to provide professional answers to patients who came to Yancheng Fourth People's Hospital for consultation, and patiently introduced the clinical manifestations of Parkinson's disease, special manifestations that are easily overlooked, drug treatment and disease prognosis. At the site of the free clinic, disease brochures were distributed to the people at the scene, explaining how to prevent and identify Parkinson's disease early, so that the people knew that "Parkinson's disease" was not afraid.
