Earlier, it was reported that the ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint level is strict and cannot be decentralised from the flagship, so most of the mobile phones we see are equipped with optical under-screen fingerprints (some ultra-thin and some short-throw), but since last year, there has been news that the domestic Goodix ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint test has been completed, and it is expected to be adopted by more models next year, but it has not yet landed. As you can see in the picture above, according to the digital chatting station, Goodix has shipped ultrasonic fingerprints at the end of last year, which are supplied to the blue factory in small batches, and the current mainstream TO5 manufacturers in China are basically testing (Honor did not use Goodix's solution, the new machine has two options of optical under-screen fingerprint, Qualcomm ultrasound and 3D face), which is expected to land on the new Snapdragon 8 Gen4 and Dimensity 9400 machines, and the related solution chips are smaller in size and lower in cost. If the news is true, it is expected that the vivo X200 series is expected to be the first to land (the X100 series iteration model is currently uncertain about the final name, and X200 is the code name here).
As a supplement, like the models we are familiar with using ultrasonic under-display fingerprints: for example, the ultrasonic fingerprints used by Samsung S23 series, Meizu 20 series, and iQOO 12 Pro are all Qualcomm solutions, and the wide-area ultrasonic 3D under-screen fingerprints used by iQOO 11 Pro, vivo X90 Pro+, NIOPhone and other models are also from Qualcomm.
As for the reason why ultrasonic fingerprints cannot be decentralized in recent years, it is actually very intuitive and expensive. According to the previous promotional copy of OnePlus and Meizu, the cost difference between ultra-thin optical screen fingerprint and short-throw optical fingerprint is 4 times, while the cost of Meizu's ultrasonic fingerprint solution is four times that of ultra-thin optical fingerprint.
