On April 19, under the guidance of the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology Collaborative Innovation, the Chengdu Jinniu District Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the People's Government of Chengdu Jinniu District, and organized by the Organization Department of the Chengdu Jinniu District Committee of the Communist Party of China (Talent Office of the District Committee), Chengdu Jinniu District Science and Technology Association, Chengdu Jinniu District New Economy and Science and Technology Bureau, Chengdu Academician Federation, and Chengdu Science and Technology Collaborative Innovation Promotion Association, the 2024 Science and Technology Empowerment Conference was held in Jinniu Jiaozi Foreign Exchange Center. The conference brought together more than 260 academicians, experts, top industry leaders and entrepreneurs, university representatives, and institutional representatives to discuss the latest scientific and technological achievements and cutting-edge trends, and promote the industrial innovation and development of Sichuan Province.
Wang Ximei, deputy secretary of the Jinniu District Party Committee of Chengdu City, delivered a welcome speech to the conference. She introduced that Jinniu District, as the first area of the national "mixed ownership reform of post scientific and technological achievements", the first pilot area of "national market procurement and trade mode" in the west, and the only advanced demonstration area of "national sustainable development" in the province, has deployed the innovation chain around the industrial chain in recent years, empowered the industrial chain by relying on the innovation chain, continued to optimize the innovation ecology, and strived to make positive contributions to the construction of a strong province in science and technology and an innovative Sichuan. She sincerely invites academicians, experts and entrepreneurs to pay attention to the development of Jinniu and jointly contribute to the innovation and development of Jinniu District.
According to Wang Qi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, this science and technology empowerment conference aims to explore the establishment of a new science and technology empowerment platform, bringing together various innovation resources, involving academician expert key laboratories, proof-of-concept centers, pilot test platforms, financial institutions, etc., mainly to provide support services for the industry. On the one hand, it can promote the formation of a good cycle of interaction between academia and industry, reduce repetitive work, let scientific research take less "detours", and let enterprises avoid "difficulties", on the other hand, create a new model of scientific and technological services driven by the platform, and help enterprises play their strengths in the global industrial chain value chain.
Sichuan Yunchen Garden Technology Co., Ltd., Sichuan Kaipu Environmental Protection Packaging Products Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Kai Electric Co., Ltd. respectively shared their company's thoughts on empowering development through science and technology, and called on enterprises, as the main body of scientific and technological innovation, to promote enterprise development and industry reform through innovation.
At the meeting, the Sichuan Provincial Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology Collaborative Innovation and the People's Government of Jinniu District, Chengdu City signed a "meeting place" cooperation agreement, and the science and technology empowerment platform was successfully settled in Jinniu District.
Sichuan Provincial Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology Collaborative Innovation signed on-site contracts with 6 pilot platforms, including Academician Lei Xianzhang, Academician Liu Xiaobo, Academician Chen Weirong, Sichuan Development Sichuan-Chongqing Cooperative Industrial Park, Chengdu Xingu Park, Chengdu Science and Technology Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Materials, Wenlan Zhigu Pilot Platform, and 6 service organizations including Huaxi Securities.
At the meeting, 15 scientific and technological empowerment carriers, including 6 academician laboratories such as the National Engineering Laboratory for Tannery Clean Technology, 6 pilot platforms such as Wenlan Zhigu Pilot Platform, and 3 parks such as Sichuan Development Sichuan-Chongqing Cooperation Industrial Park, were released to provide a more complete innovation ecology for the industrialization of scientific research achievements.
At the meeting, 29 scientific and technological achievements that have completed the proof of concept were also released, such as "High Wear-Resistant, High Anti-corrosion Multi-functional Coatings and Parts" developed by the team of Academician Zhu Yuanzhi of North China University of Technology.

Lei Xianxian, academician of the German National Academy of Engineering, Professor Zhao Jingmei, executive vice president of the School of Finance of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and Xiang Jiabo, vice president of Jinhua Branch of Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank, respectively brought keynote reports such as "Science and Technology Empowerment to Promote the Development of New Quality Productivity and Hydrogen Energy Track", "The Logic of New Quality Productivity and High-quality Economic Growth", and "Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank Helps "Industrial Innovation and Achievement Transformation".
