The blogger gave the "micron" data of the iPhone 16 series screen:

If this data is true, then the iPhone 16 Pro series will surpass the Samsung Galaxy S24 as the "narrowest bezel" phone in the world.

On the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple used a technique called "low-pressure injection molding" (LIPO) to successfully reduce the bezel width to 1.5 mm (compared to 2.2 mm on the iPhone 14).

And on the iPhone 16 Pro series, Samsung Display and LG Display have been approved for mass production of OLED screens for iPhone 16 Pro series models at the same time.

It is reported that the iPhone 16 Pro series uses a new Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, namely Border Reduction Structure. It allows for a more compact and efficient layout of the underlying circuitry of the screen, allowing for narrower bezels without compromising the performance of the screen or the overall shape of the device.

This is the closest iPhone has come to a "true full screen". If Apple can make all four sides narrow, then the visuals of the new iPhone will be amazing.

The narrower bezels of the screen not only bring a more "borderless" field of view, but also make a larger screen in the limited body space.

According to MacRumors, the iPhone 16 Pro series will get bigger screen sizes. The iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display (from 6.1-inch), while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch display (from 6.7-inch).

However, the Dynamic Island screen cutout will continue to exist in the next generation. Early iPhone 16 Pro rumors mentioned that the 2024 Pro model could feature an under-display Face ID sensor, moving away from the traditional notch design.

For the standard iPhone 16, there may be a new camera layout, but the display size may not change.

The screen change in the iPhone 16 Pro series may be related to the addition of a 5x quadrismatic telephoto camera, which is expected to be available on both Pro models this year.

The action buttons on the iPhone 16 series may be capacitive and have a flush design that sits flush with the bezel. The volume and power buttons will also remain mechanical.
