Recently, the Xingwen County People's Court held an open court hearing of a case of crimes abusing public office, and sentenced the defendant Sun Moumou to two years in prison, suspended for three years, and a fine of 150,000 yuan, and returned the illegal gains for the crime of accepting bribes.
The court found through trial that from 2018 to 2022, the defendant Sun Moumou took advantage of his position as the assistant general manager of a construction company in Yibin, the assistant to the chairman of an investment and construction group co., LTD. in Yibin, the general manager of a municipal garden engineering Co., Ltd. in Yibin, and the general manager of the municipal garden branch of a construction company in Yibin to provide assistance to others in project selection, material procurement, fund allocation, etc., and repeatedly accepted property totaling RMB 530,000 from management service objects. Of this amount, $250,000 was not actually collected.
During the trial, the public prosecution presented relevant evidence, the defendant and the defender conducted cross-examination, the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions, and the defendant Sun Moumou made a final statement, pleading guilty and repenting in court.
The court held at trial that the defendant Sun Moumou, as a manager of a state-owned enterprise, took advantage of his position to seek benefits for others, and illegally accepted 530,000 yuan of property from others, which was a huge amount, and his conduct constituted the crime of accepting bribes. Defendant Sun XX voluntarily came to the case and truthfully confessed the facts of the crime, of the 530,000 yuan he received from others' property, 250,000 yuan was an attempted crime, and before initiating a public prosecution, he truthfully confessed his crime, sincerely repented, and actively returned the stolen goods, and expressed his plea of guilt and acceptance of punishment at trial, and based on the facts, nature, circumstances, admission of guilt and remorse, and the degree of harm to society, the court made the above judgment in accordance with law.
More than 50 cadres and employees of Yibin Sanjiang Investment and Construction Group Co., Ltd. and more than 20 people from the Xingwen County Fire and Rescue Brigade attended the trial to receive warning education.
