It is rumored that AMD's internal data has been stolen by hackers! Official Response: Under investigation

On June 19, according to the register, a hacker criminal named IntelBroker is peddling internal data stolen from processor manufacturer AMD on the dark web BreachForums, including customer databases, upcoming product specifications and plans, internal financial data and original code, firmware and ROM, employee personal information (including names, user IDs and phone numbers) and other sensitive information in exchange for cryptocurrency.

In response, AMD said it was aware of cybercriminal groups claiming to have stolen AMD data, and that "we are working closely with law enforcement officials and third-party hosting partners to investigate the significance of this claim and data."

Intelbroker, a moderator on the dark web BreachForums, has gained notoriety in data theft circles in the past by rumored high-profile intrusions into many high-profile targets. Last month, Europol admitted that someone had broken into user groups and stolen documents; Home Depot confirmed in April that a third-party mistake had led to an employee data breach, and Pentagon claimed that its partner had been attacked in the same month. Intelbroker put the data obtained from these three incidents into public auction on the dark web.

While AMD information may not be useful to some, it can be valuable to phishers, scammers, unscrupulous investors, and others. Police around the world are once again on the hunt for BreachForums and those who use it.
