As for the current influenza situation, according to surveillance data from the Epidemiology Department between January 1 and June 20, 2024, there have been a cumulative number of 186,900 cases of influenza and 14 deaths, he said.
Meanwhile, from September 1, 2021 to June 16, 2024, surveillance data from the Department of Epidemiology and Medical Sciences of the CDC, the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, and the Thai-US Collaborating Center for Public Health on influenza and respiratory infection strains in specific areas of Thailand showed that there were 2,284 cases of influenza virus infection, namely: 1,044 cases of A/H3N2 virus, 619 cases of B virus, 594 cases of A/H1N1 virus, and 24 cases of class A virus.
