Recently, Thailand's Carryboy camper manufacturer took advantage of the Hilux Champ's modularity and launched an innovative camper module that transforms the Hilux Champ into a five-person mobile cabin.
Smaller than the Hilux at THB459,000, the Hilux Champ has a very simple interior to keep costs under control, with PVC seats, no screen and no sound system, and practicality. Of course, things like air conditioning and power steering wheels and power windows are indispensable. Designed as a unique single level, entry point with immediate face-to-face dining area and longitudinal sofa bed. The seats at the rear of the dining area slide back with a pushbutton, the table lowers into a bed, and connects to the sofa bed via a central mattress to form an oversized L-shaped bed, plus an overhead bed under the skylight, Carryboy's Hilux Champ camper can accommodate up to five people overnight.
To make room for a queen-size bed, Carryboy cleverly placed an 80L refrigerator and microwave between the sofa bed and the bathroom. For those looking for a picnic, Carryboy offers an optional slide-out outdoor kitchen with a single-burner stove with sink and stainless steel worktop.
Bathrooms are located behind the passenger seat with toilets and showers, while washbasins are located outside the bathrooms, and the campervans come standard with a thermostatic water heater and a 3kW generator. Isn't it tempting to have a fully equipped five-person mini camper for a low price? It's just that Hilux Champ is currently only available in Thailand.
