AMD is considering adjusting the 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X's TDP settings to nearly double from the original 65W to 120W to boost gaming performance without losing too much weight to older X3D models.
Of course, in this way, the frequency of the Ryzen 7 9700X is bound to increase significantly, especially the base frequency.
AMD has notified its partner customers of this possible change, but it is unclear whether and to what extent it will actually be adjusted.
At present, compared with Ryzen 7 7700X, Ryzen 7 9700X has 8 cores and 16 threads, 8MB L2 cache, and 32MB L3 cache, and the base frequency is greatly reduced by 700MHz to only 3.8GHz, and the acceleration frequency is increased by 100MHz to 5.5GHz.
As for the 6-core Ryzen 5 9600X, it should not be adjusted, or continue to 65W, after all, it is for mainstream users.
