Huang Gongwang was a famous painter of the Yuan Dynasty, and his most famous work is "Fuchun Mountain Residence". Huang Gongwang didn't start learning to paint until he was thirty years old, so why can an adult become a painter when he starts to learn painting? There are two reasons for this.
1. Initiation Taoism
Huang Gongwang entered Taoism, so that he had a lot of leisure time to paint.
Why did Huang Gongwang enter Taoism? Because Huang Gongwang was implicated in the Zhang Lu case after entering the office, he was imprisoned. After Huang Gongwang was released from prison, he was very disappointed in the court of the Yuan Dynasty, so he joined the Quanzhen sect of Taoism and had dealings with Zhang Sanfeng and others.
After Huang Gongwang entered Taoism, he had more leisure time and more communication with the outside world, so he had more opportunities to sketch. These provided him with the opportunity to become a painter.
2. Seclusive landscape
Huang Gongwang's seclusion between mountains and rivers gave him the inspiration to paint.
Huang Gongwang once lived in the Jiangnan area, so he visited mountains and rivers for a long time, so he became interested in mountains and rivers.
In order to record the beauty of these mountains and rivers, Huang Gongwang began to make landscape paintings, and his skills gradually improved, and his popularity also increased.
Huang Gongwang only began to study painting when he became an adult, and finally became a painter, which also shows that he is a person with artistic talent, coupled with his diligence and interest, it is natural that he can become a painter.
Huang Gongwang's life tells us that there are gains and losses in a person's life, and everyone is a talent, but we must find our own correct development direction before becoming a talent.
