A new round of applications for the Australian Working Holiday Visa (WHV) is expected to resume on July 1, 2024!
According to the latest policy, the Australian government will implement a visa pre-application (lottery) process for some countries with far more applicants than the quota.
Applicants from China, Vietnam, and India will need to participate in this new process.
Cost: The pre-application registration fee is $25, which is a brand new measure to better manage the application process.
How to participate: Interested parties can submit an online registration form through ImmiAccount, and the system will select a valid registration using electronic random selection.
The lucky chosen ones will receive an invitation to apply online for their first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa. The introduction of this process makes the application process more fair and transparent.
Chinese mainland citizens applying for a 462 visa need to meet the following requirements
1. Hold a valid Chinese passport;
2. Must be between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of application. If you apply for a visa at the age of 30 but are over 31 years old before the Australian immigration department makes a decision, the immigration department can still grant you a visa;
3. Have not previously entered Australia with a working holiday visa (subclass 462 or subclass 417);
4. Have a higher education qualification from a university, college or training center, or have completed 2 years of undergraduate university study. Acceptable higher education qualifications include: degrees, postgraduate certificates, diplomas;
5. Language score requirements;
In the 12 months before you apply for your visa, you will need to obtain one of the following language scores:
- The average IELTS score is at least 4.5
- TOEFL IBT score of at least 32 (only test scores prior to July 25, 2023 will be accepted for the time being)
- A PTE score of at least 30
- CAE 至少达到 147 minutes
