Since the beginning of summer this year, Xiangfen County has encountered high temperature and little rain, and the drought has continued to develop, which has brought adverse effects on agricultural production. According to statistics, about 300,000 mu of cultivated land in the county has been affected by drought, 400,000 mu of summer corn has been sown, and 160,000 mu of land to be sown has not been sown due to lack of water and moisture.
In the face of severe drought, Xiangfen County conscientiously implemented the spirit of the city's drought-fighting work conference, and in accordance with the work deployment of the municipal bureau, the water conservancy department acted in advance, scientifically dispatched water sources, reasonably arranged irrigation plans, and made full use of existing water resources. The county prevention and control department has launched the county's drought level IV emergency response, and all townships and county prevention and control member units have fully engaged in drought fighting work.
In terms of irrigation management, all irrigation districts in the county have strengthened management and services. Medium and small pumping stations along the Fen River have comprehensively maintained water lifting equipment and irrigation channels, and have been working at full capacity to lift water and fight drought. The artesian irrigation area should rationally allocate water sources, arrange the rotation irrigation cycle, and maintain the order of watering. Well irrigation areas have made full use of advanced water-saving irrigation technology and have made efforts to expand the irrigation area.
In order to ensure the safety of water supply, the management of drinking water projects in rural areas has been strengthened. Unified guidance for all centralized water supply stations, the adoption of staggered water supply, uninterrupted pumping of water pumps and other measures, the replacement of single village water supply sources, to ensure the normal use of water by the masses, reduce the impact of drought on human and livestock draft.
In addition, it has also brought into play the role of drought-fighting materials, and through a combination of government subsidies and mass input, it has renewed damaged water pumps, extended irrigation pipelines, and expanded the area of drought-resistant irrigation.
Medium-sized irrigation districts in Xiangfen County have also performed well in drought control. In the spring of this year, the three medium-sized irrigation districts achieved a total of 3.83 million cubic meters of irrigation water supply, covering 34,800 mu of farmland. After the summer, the irrigation areas of Dongliu, Zhaoqu and Dongdeng strictly implemented the irrigation plan, and improved the efficiency of water resources utilization through precise irrigation and water-saving irrigation. Among them, the main branch canal in Dongliu Irrigation District adopts anti-seepage channels or pipelines to effectively save water resources.
However, during the period of drought-resistant irrigation, the three medium-sized pumping station irrigation areas in Xiangfen County are also faced with the contradiction of ensuring the ecological base flow of the Fen River and making every effort to lift water for irrigation, and often need to reduce the amount of water to ensure the ecological base flow of the Fen River.
