As the shortest route from Xinjiang to Tibet, the Keriya Ancient Road is also known as the "Ninth Route into Tibet". It stretches about 400 kilometers from the village of Pulu in Xinjiang through the Kunlun Mountains to Qiangtang in Tibet.
It doesn't sound long, but you must know that in Xinjiang, the altitude is only more than 2,000 meters, and when you get to Tibet, it can reach 5,000 meters. So you'll experience steep elevation climbs and hellish difficulty for these 400 kilometers.

Because the Kriya Ancient Road covers a variety of landforms, the terrain is particularly complex, and a large section of the middle is a high-altitude uninhabited area, it can be regarded as one of the most difficult cross-country routes in China.
This is not only a test of people, but also of cars. The problems that regular cars do not have on other off-road sections may be evident in Kriya.
For example, high altitude will bring about power attenuation.
The altitude of Kriya is generally above 5,000 meters, and in some places it is even close to 6,000 meters. On the plateau, due to the decrease in the concentration of oxygen in the air, the combustion efficiency of the internal combustion engine decreases, which will lead to poor power and high fuel consumption.
Another example is the volcanic terrain here, the soil is very soft, and there is a lot of volcanic debris, so it is easy for the car to slip when you drive over.
In the past, it was difficult to completely avoid these problems on fuel vehicles, but now after the new energy off-road vehicles come out, there is a new solution.

The first thing to face when entering the Kriya Ancient Road is the high-altitude glacial permafrost, snow-covered steep slopes, and the cold climate even forms a rare "frost heave hill", which also makes this route bumpy and difficult, and there is a cross axis from time to time.
The general off-road vehicle takes this kind of road, and it has to be cut to four-wheel drive, and it may even need to hang a differential lock.
A differential lock keeps both wheels spinning at the same speed when one wheel slips. In this way, the wheels that do not slip when the oil is given will also rotate and drive the vehicle out of trouble.
The four-wheel drive of Yi Sifang and ordinary cars are fundamentally different.
Looking up at the four wheels of the U8 are independently controlled by motors, there is no traditional differential structure, the wheels do not interfere with each other, and when individual wheels slip, not only do not need to open the differential lock, but also do not even need to participate in the limited slip, it can ensure that the power of the adhesion wheels is not lost or interrupted.

There is a difficult mountain road called Hongtu Daban in the ancient Kriya Road, and the highest point is 5600m above sea level.
Generally, when going up the mountain, it is going up one circle after another, so that the slope will be a little slower. There are only three large stairs in the red clay daban, and each section has a very large slope, and you can only climb up with one brain.

In the case of the U8, it has a motor on each wheel. If the left wheel is vacated, the differential lock will add all the torque of the left wheel to the right wheel, which is equivalent to the two motors working together to double the torque at the wheel end.
The power of a single motor of U8 covers 220kW-240kW, and the torque of a single motor is 320N·m-420N·m.
