It is a classic model, which is generally good and has a high reputation among consumers. The recently launched Outlander 2WD Honor Edition has also attracted the attention of some consumers. Although this car still has a lot to do and needs to be improved, overall the price/performance ratio is good.
But as the saying goes, it is up to people to do things, and it is up to heaven to make things happen. Ironically, in such a good market environment, Mitsubishi Outlander has launched large-scale recall plans again and again. According to the information filed with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, Mitsubishi Outlander will recall some imported Mitsubishi Outlander models from 2014 to 2016 from July 3, 2017. The recall does not involve domestically produced models. The main reason for this recall is that the supplier's parts are not of good quality, resulting in door lock parts that do not meet the requirements of the specification, and there are serious safety hazards, involving a total of 17,678 vehicles.
In fact, we also know that sometimes recalls are not a bad thing. But Outlander's frequent recalls are a bit unreasonable. At the end of 2016, Mitsubishi recalled a batch of imported Outlander models due to problems with the click and connection parts of the wipers. Prior to this, Outlander had been recalled due to various issues such as airbags, replacement of lights, brake light switches, etc. After reading it, Uncle Che suddenly felt that this was using the Chinese market as an experiment? It's scary to think about. Fortunately, I didn't buy this car at that time, otherwise Uncle Che would have to run around in the 4S shop. Are Chinese consumers a low-cost experiment in the eyes of Outlander?
I remember when I was an editor, I often heard some friends who drove Japanese cars boast about how rigorous the workmanship of Japanese cars is and how meticulous the quality inspection is. Now it's really a slap in the face, right? Recalls are so frequent, there are still people who think it's a small problem, and of course, some people think that Outlander is just an isolated case, and other Japanese cars are still very good. Oh, my God! If all Japanese cars were like this, they would have withdrawn from the Chinese market a long time ago, okay? How big is the heart of a friend who says this? It's really easy to talk if I haven't encountered it myself. If your car is recalled, even if it is just a door lock failure, I believe the owner will feel very uncomfortable.
If the voluntary recall of a car with potential safety hazards is a manifestation of responsibility, then we cannot simply evaluate the quality of a car through a recall, but the number of complaints and the way to resolve it can be a good indication of the quality of the car. As far as we know, since 2009, Outlander has received a total of 277 complaints, and after mediation, many consumers are still dissatisfied.
According to the daily red and black list of the automobile complaint network, Mitsubishi has long been at the top of the black list. Why is Outlander always on the list? Because after receiving a complaint, the complaint will be forwarded to the manufacturer for processing, but the Outlander manufacturer is slow to respond and does not seem to care about after-sales service at all. Of course, it is not excluded that it has turned a deaf ear to consumer complaints at all, and there are not a few car owners who have not been effectively resolved.
I don't know if you know, the main markets for Japanese cars have always been Japan, Europe and the United States, but overseas markets have little to do with us, so we don't have to worry about it for the time being. However, Outlander is Mitsubishi's only pillar model, Southeast Mitsubishi is basically on the verge of death, and GAC Mitsubishi wants to rely on Outlander to gain a firm foothold, but there are frequent recalls, which is really a slap in the face.
Cars are frequently recalled due to quality problems, and no one responds to consumer complaints. Perhaps for Mitsubishi, none of these complaints matter. Consumers, you can do whatever you want, I don't care! Because of this, many consumers' only good feelings for Mitsubishi have also disappeared. If Mitsubishi doesn't deal with these issues, who will dare to buy your car in the future? Are you going to continue to treat users as lab rats?
