Chichibu Distillery is a very young distillery and a rising star in the Japanese whisky scene. Recently, Japanese liquor merchant Shinanoya (SHINANOYA) customized a single barrel whisky in Chichibu, and this is a heavy peat whisky, distilled in 2014, matured in 2nd fill Bourbon barrel number 3551, bottled in 2023, 63% ABV, 700ml, 188 bottles.

Smell:
The fragrance exudes a calming yet powerful nose, with balsam and sweet woody notes, peaty smoke, milk sorbet, mustard, forest hardwood, sauna and mint, and over time kiwi and syrupy Japanese pear;
Tasting:
On the palate it is soft, sweet but not greasy, with hints of kiwi, grapefruit, mustard and almond milk, followed by spicy notes of lime, Hinata summer orange and ginger adding a hint of pungency;
Olin:
Over time, fruity flavours emerge from the peaty smoky kernel and are evocative.
