He has been awarded many awards

As early as 2004, Andy Lau was awarded the Medal of Honor, in 2008 he was appointed as an Unofficial Justice of the Peace, and in 2016 Andy Lau was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star. This time, he was upgraded again and was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star.

Andy Lau's award speech reads: Mr. Lau has been engaged in acting for more than 40 years and is well-known in the entertainment industry. Known as one of the "Four Kings" of Hong Kong music, he has appeared in more than 170 films and won numerous awards, and was elected vice chairman of the China Film Association in 2024. Over the years, Mr. Lau has been awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star for his devotion to public welfare, supporting the development of sports for people with disabilities, and establishing a charitable foundation to support the underprivileged.

Where there are Chinese people, their name is legendary

This is true. Andy Lau is known as the "model worker" in the Chinese film industry, and has participated in more than 170 films, with good box office and word-of-mouth, including many masterpieces such as "Infernal Affairs", "Heavenly Love" and "Dark War". Andy Lau has won the Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actor three times.

When looking back and combing Andy Lau's acting career, it is not difficult to find that although he is known as an "ageless idol", Andy Lau has never stopped at the youthful and beautiful "idol" image, but has devoted himself to the film and television industry to polish his acting skills.

Whether it is a judge, a gangster, a chivalrous man, or a policeman, he can always interpret the characters in the tide of the times well, and he can easily navigate the various situations in life. The cool and handsome uninhibited image of the prodigal son in "Heavenly Love", regardless of the cost of protecting his love, has become an eternal "dream chaser" in everyone's hearts; and "Infernal Affairs" played the undercover gangster in the police station, and staged a duel with Tony Leung, which is still a classic of police and gangster films; Even if he confronts Stephen Chow in light comedy, Andy Lau is also proficient, does not fall behind, and his performance is relaxed and natural, which is remarkable.

Since 2004's "Ambush on All Sides" directed by Zhang Yimou, Andy Lau has starred in many mainland-led co-productions, including "No Thieves in the World", "Casting Names", "Ink Attack", "Di Renjie's Heavenly Empire" and so on.

It is worth mentioning that Andy Lau has participated in a wide range of film themes, in addition to the influential figures, he has also participated in many social issue movies, including "Sister Peach". The movie is based on a true story, telling a heartwarming master-servant story between Roger, the young master of the big family, and Sister Tao, an old servant; and "Orphaned," which is also based on real social events, tells the story of a low-level Chinese farmer who persists in searching for his missing son for many years.

When Andy Lau appeared in front of the big screen with the most simple image of a farmer, many viewers were surprised and thought that it was the most subversive role in his acting career. As everyone knows, there is a deep emotional connection behind the performance that broke through the aura of "idol", and he was deeply moved by the core of that story.

This is also in line with Andy Lau's previous concept of insisting on low-key public welfare and helping people in need.

Public welfare activities have become an important part of his life. Andy Lau once emphasized in an interview with the media, "The work of delivering love must continue." As early as 1994, he had established the Andy Lau Charity Foundation, and after the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, Andy Lau convened a charity performance in Hong Kong to raise funds and went to the front line of disaster relief to express condolences.

In 2005, Andy Lau launched the "Asian Rising Star Director Scheme" to sponsor six young Asian directors to direct films, including the acclaimed "Crazy Stone".

At the same time, as a superstar in the music industry, Andy Lau has been singing and holding concerts tirelessly since he first released the record in 1985, and is deeply loved by music fans.
