Wang Bin, senior engineer of the Yangtze River Power Baihetan Power Plant of the Three Gorges Corporation, told reporters that in recent years, the world's largest clean energy corridor consisting of Baihetan and Wudongde, Xiangjiaba, Xiluodu, Three Gorges and Gezhouba has routinely carried out more than 10 cascade reservoir ecological dispatch tests every year, injecting new momentum into the protection of biodiversity in the basin. "The species and number of birds is an important indicator to judge the ecological quality of a region, and the chestnut-throated bee-eater migrates to Qiaojia from other places every year, mainly along the Jinsha River to adapt to their survival, indicating that Qiaojia's excellent ecological environment has been recognized by them." Tang Yong, head of the Yuping Street Forestry Station, further said that we have also arranged for bird guards to carry out monitoring and inspections to protect their habitats.
In recent years, Qiaojia has also delineated 1,341,700 acres of ecological protection red lines, 2 nature reserves (lands), 3 priority areas and key areas of biodiversity conservation, and carried out solid research on the expansion and propagation of Qiaojia five-needle pine in the "plant world", the habitat migration and protection of the "most beautiful migratory bird" chestnut-throated bee-eater, the demarcation patrol and feeding of the black-necked crane of the "plateau fairy", the artificial breeding and release of fish in the Jinsha River basin, and the release of 1.71 million silver carp, bighead carp and other fish, and more than 4,000 surviving from 34 wild plants to breeding and transplanting.
