It is understood that the project is located in the supporting plot of the Guangdong-Hong Kong In-depth Cooperation Zone in Zhujiang Street, Nansha District, Guangzhou, on the southwest side of Lingxin Avenue and the northwest side of Xinglong Road on Zhujiang Street.
The construction scale is 120605 square meters, with a total land area of 36,547 square meters and a construction land area of 36,547 square meters.
It is reported that the National Medical Center is known as the "important instrument of the country" in the field of national health, which represents the highest level of national medical technology and the frontier of disciplines. As of 2023, there are only 13 national medical centers in the country, and only the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University in Guangzhou is listed as a "national medical center".
That is to say, at present, there are 3 national medical centers in Guangzhou, and Nansha accounts for 2 (Zhongshan First Hospital, Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine).
According to the plan, the construction of the National Medical Center of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine includes the infrastructure part of the Guangdong Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as the intelligent projects, informatization projects and medical equipment of the Nansha Hospital of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Main layout construction:
- The construction area of the Research Center for Excavation and Inheritance of Traditional Chinese Medicine is 77,620 square meters;
- The R&D center of traditional Chinese medicine prescription and equipment has a construction area of 3,000 square meters;

The Guangdong Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine will build a number of centers and experimental equipment to build a high-level scientific research platform covering the whole process of "clinical-basic-achievement transformation".
In addition, it is worth mentioning that next to the National Medical Center of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Treatment Center of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.
According to the plan, the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Treatment Center of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine is a provincial tertiary hospital.
The total construction area of the project is 58,440 square meters, with a total land area of 13,370 square meters and a construction land area of 13,370 square meters. The main construction content includes eight facilities and equipment rooms, including emergency department, outpatient department, inpatient department, pharmacy department, medical technology department, security system, business management and living room in the hospital, as well as underground parking garage.
The estimated total investment of the project is controlled at 1,094,915,100 yuan, and the funds required for construction are arranged by the provincial finance of 800 million yuan, and the rest of the funds are raised by the provincial hospital of traditional Chinese medicine.
At present, the pre-examination and site selection opinions of the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Treatment Center for Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (Nansha District) have been approved and announced, and the progress of the project has been accelerated!
In the future, the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Treatment Center for Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the Guangdong Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Nansha Hospital of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the National Medical Center of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will complement each other to build a world-leading high-level and modern Chinese and Western medicine medical center integrating clinical treatment, scientific research, emergency response, teaching and training, and Internet medical and health services, serving the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia.
