To celebrate the 27 th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) held the "1 July" barracks opening activities from 29 to 30 June, and successively opened Stonecutters Island, Shek Kong, and San Wai camps.
At 10 a.m. on 29 June, the Hong Kong Garrison organized a grand national flag-raising ceremony at the Shek Kong Barracks. During the opening of the barracks, some of the weapons and equipment attracted many spectators to stop and watch. Under the guidance of their parents, many children boarded the navy vessels, observed armored vehicles, experienced simulated shooting, and took photos with the officers and men of the Hong Kong Garrison.
In the Shigang camp, visitors watched the helicopter flight demonstration with great interest. At the demonstration site of the joint hunter battle between the ground and the air, officers and men relied on helicopters to carry out rope landing and carried out a demonstration of hostage rescue operations in the form of coherent drills, fully demonstrating their excellent fighting skills and high fighting spirit.
The Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Centre is a popular venue for visitors to check in. Many citizens said that the theme exhibition of "Dreaming of the East - Chinese Dream, Dream of Strengthening the Army, and Guardians of Xiangjiang" is rich in content and diverse in form, and through visiting, they can understand the extraordinary course of the party, the country and the army construction and development, and they are very shocked and deeply educated.
At the Stonecutters Island Barracks Auditorium, the visiting citizens enjoyed the theme theatrical performance "My Motherland and Me" carefully created and arranged by the officers and soldiers. The performance is divided into three parts: "Prosperous China", "Beautiful Hong Kong" and "Guardian of Hong Kong", which comprehensively demonstrates the historic achievements made in the construction and development of the country, especially since the beginning of the new era, fully demonstrates the brand-new atmosphere of Hong Kong from chaos to order to a new stage of order and prosperity, vividly reflects the fiery practice of the Hong Kong Garrison in faithfully fulfilling its mission, and artistically presents the touching scene of the officers and men of the Hong Kong Garrison joining hands with Hong Kong citizens.
This is the 33rd time that the Hong Kong Garrison has held an open barracks event. Over the past 27 years, more than 800,000 people have visited the barracks, and it has become a popular and popular brand event for Hong Kong citizens.
