In order to thoroughly implement the relevant work requirements of the Work Plan for Promoting the Application and Development of Legal Technology in Shanghai and the Notice on Printing and Distributing Several Measures and > < Give Full Play to the Functional Advantages of the City, Strengthen the Brand of Law Firms, and Accelerate the Construction of Shanghai International Legal Service Center" issued by the General Office of the Municipal Party Committee and the General Office of the Municipal Government, on June 22, 2024, the launching ceremony of the Shanghai Lawyers' "Law + Technology" series salon and the Law and Technology Friendship Society of the Shanghai Bar Association was held in Hongkou.
The event was guided by the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice, hosted by the Shanghai Bar Association, undertaken by the Legal Science and Technology Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association, and co-organized and supported by the Law Angel - China Contract Library, Hongkou District Justice Bureau, and North Bund Group. The event attracted more than 200 members of the Shanghai Bar Association and legal technology practitioners.
Shao Wanquan, President of the Shanghai Bar Association, made an opening speech. President Shao Wanquan introduced in detail the achievements of the Shanghai Bar Association in the field of legal science and technology, and said that the "Law and Technology Friendship Society" should take the initiative to practice and innovate, and use the association as a carrier to further enhance the communication between law firms and law firms, and strengthen the interaction between the legal and technological circles.
Dong Jiming, Director of the Information Technology Division of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice, delivered a speech. Director Dong Jiming said that the Municipal Bureau of Justice will continue to invest resources to do a good job in the leadership, guidance, talent and security of the development of legal science and technology, and hopes that the "Law and Technology Friendship Society" of the Shanghai Lawyers Association will play a full role and continue to make breakthroughs and reach new heights in the exchange and publicity of legal science and technology, the combination of rule of law culture and legal technology.
Wei Xin, Director of the Legal Science and Technology Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association, introduced the background of the establishment of the Society, the composition of the first batch of members, and the mission, vision and work plan of the Society.

It is reported that in April, the Shanghai Lawyers Association launched the work related to the establishment of the "Law and Technology Friendship Society" to recruit members from law firms in the city. Up to now, the first batch of 103 members of the Legal and Technology Friendship Club has been confirmed, including full-time information technology experts of law firms, persons in charge of digital work of law firms, and lawyers in the application of legal technology products.

As a "bridge builder", the association will carry out a series of activities with the Legal Technology Committee as the core, including product evaluation of the technology product competition, legal technology salon, law firm digital solution seminar, and digital law firm standard seminar, and strive to enable Shanghai law firms and Shanghai lawyers to better embrace digital development under an open, diverse and inclusive culture, and contribute to accelerating the construction of Shanghai International Legal Service Center.
