Since 2007, Zhang Hang has always taken "no major animal epidemics in the town" as the goal of his own work. This day-long work with poultry and livestock plays a vital role for farmers and consumers, not only to ensure the safety of breeding and the health of livestock and poultry, but also to ensure the safety of every meal at the table.
Among the many work experiences, the most impressive thing for Zhang Hang was the "National African Swine Fever Prevention and Control Emergency State" in 2018. "At that time, it was winter, and I had just taken over the overall work of the Xiaotangshan Animal Epidemic Prevention Station, and then the epidemic broke out, which can be said to be unprepared." Despite being very apprehensive, Zhang Hang still led the staff of the whole station to face difficulties and difficulties, and in the absence of any machinery and equipment, it took only 5 days to clean up and clear more than 400 pigs in the town, which was completed 5 days ahead of the hard indicators issued by the city and district.
After the completion of the clearance work, due to the outbreak of African swine fever in the neighboring Shunyi District, as the town with the most roads bordering Shunyi in Changping District, Zhang Hang led the staff of the whole station to devote themselves to the prevention and control of the highway blockade. "According to the requirements, no pigs could pass through the town at that time, and on the second night of the deployment, we encountered two trucks carrying live pigs trying to enter the town, and we found and intercepted them in time." Zhang Hang recalled.
In the weather of nearly minus 20 degrees, Zhang Hang and the staff of the whole station used 47 days of strict prevention and control to create a group of "Great Wall" of epidemic prevention and control, ensuring that there was no "African swine fever epidemic" in the town.

The dense texture of the protective suit makes people feel like they are in a "sauna", and after wearing it for a while, the cheeks are stuffy and red, and the body is already sweating.
"The summer high temperature season is the best period for disinfection and eradication, scientific and standardized disinfection is an important measure to cut off the transmission of the disease, eliminate the source of infection and kill the pathogen, every quarter we will carry out a large-scale immunization work for the livestock and poultry in the town, and the protective clothing is basically worn for most of the day. At present, the town breeds nearly 10,000 livestock and poultry of all kinds, and we have strictly achieved the goal of 'avoiding everything and leaving no dead ends' through grouping and slicing, division of labor and cooperation. Zhang Hang said.
In the animal epidemic prevention work, Zhang Hang always took the lead in jumping out of the sheepfold, entering the cowshed, and "wrestling" with cattle and sheep. At the same time, Zhang Hang and the staff of the whole station insisted on going to the field to carry out regular inspections, carry out professional knowledge training and publicity, promote the advanced technology of the breeding industry, reduce the incidence of livestock and poultry, improve the feed conversion rate, increase the income of farmers, and further improve the comprehensive prevention and control level of the breeding team.
