A Chinese nail salon in New York was hit by a car, killing four and injuring nine
At around 4:30 p.m. local time on June 28, a 64-year-old man, Swally, drove a Chevrolet SUV in Long Island, New York, into a nail salon called Hawaii. Four people died on the spot, including a policewoman and three Chinese residents. Among the nine injured were the driver himself, who was suspected of drunk driving. Due to the great impact force, the ceiling in the nail salon collapsed and fell, glass shards were scattered all over the ground, and the pedicure chairs were crooked, and the scene was tragic.
Police released the identities of the dead and injured, including Emilia Renhack, a 30-year-old female police officer with the New York City Police Department, Jiancai Che, a 37-year-old Chinese man, Yan Xu, a 41-year-old Chinese woman, and Meizi Zhang, a 50-year-old Chinese woman. It is reported that the female police officer who died was getting her nails done in the store after work that day to attend the wedding of a female colleague that night.
