Over the years, the Management Affairs Center of Chongqing Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve has adhered to the scientific and technological support as the driving force behind the expansion of the walnut industry, actively adopted the methods of high replacement and excellent to continuously cultivate and improve varieties, continuously strengthened management, promoted green prevention and control technology, improved quality with science and technology, developed the industry with science and technology, and promoted income with science and technology.
In the middle of summer, the Yintiaoling walnut scientific research base is lush and fruitful. As far as the eye can see, the walnut forests are growing well, and the green and round walnut fruits are dotted among the branches and leaves of the mountain, shining with emerald green luster under the reflection of the sun, and a bumper harvest is expected. Behind the bumper harvest of walnuts is the 17 years of exploration and efforts of the water chestnut scientific research base in Yintiaoling Nature Reserve, during which 62 strains and 7 walnut resistant strains screened in the early stage were subjected to biological observation and disease resistance testing, and the key factors and mechanisms of disease resistance of seven walnut strains in the water chestnut scientific research base were jointly explored from the three levels of fertilizer nutrition, inducing disease resistance substances and prevention and control agents, so as to lay a solid foundation for cultivating walnut "new varieties" with core competitiveness.
In addition, in the process of solving the technical bottleneck of walnut disease, Yintiaoling Reserve, together with Southwest University and Chongqing Academy of Forestry, is committed to the research direction of green prevention and control, and has devoted itself to researching and forming a number of sets of green prevention and control technology plans for walnut diseases, and promoting 3,000 acres of green prevention and control technology of Yintiaoling walnut in Wuxi County. In 2024, after multi-point regional tests, walnut tree diseases and insect pests have been effectively controlled, the growth is good, and the amount of fruit hanging has been significantly improved, which fully proves that the green prevention and control technology of "inducement + conditioning + prevention + treatment" precision medicine led by Yintiaoling Management Center is reproducible, generalizable, and referenceable, which not only realizes the double improvement of walnut quality and efficiency, but more importantly, obtains a new technology with low cost and high efficiency for pest control, which lays a solid theoretical foundation for solving the disease problem of walnut industry in Chongqing.
