We have shared vector diagrams related to China's topography in articles such as "Schematic Diagram of China's Topography of Three Steps", "Vector Schematic Diagram Sharing of China's Four Plateaus" and "Vector Schematic Diagram Sharing of China's Major Mountain Ranges".

Now I will share with you a vector diagram of the Northeast Plain, the North China Plain, and the Middle and Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River, all of which are located on the third step of the continental topography.

If you need this data, please check the information at the end of this article to find the document.

Northeast Plains

The Northeast Plain, also known as the Songliao Plain (in the broad sense), the Kanto Plain.

Located in the northeast of the mainland, between the Great and Small Xing'an Mountains and the Changbai Mountains, it covers an area of about 350,000 square kilometers and is the largest plain in the mainland.

From the topographic map, the Northeast Plain spans four provinces and regions of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and Inner Mongolia, and is composed of the Sanjiang Plain, the Songnen Plain and the Liaohe Plain, surrounded by the flood alluvial plains and platforms of the foothills.

The land here is fertile and concentrated, and it has the world's precious agricultural resources - black soil, which is one of the only three black soil regions in the world.

There are also two major black soil areas that are not on the mainland, they are the black soil area of the Ukrainian plain and the black soil area of the Mississippi River plain in the United States.

On this vast plain, the four northeastern provinces and autonomous regions account for one-third of China's total grain output, and are very important grain producing areas and commercial grain bases on the mainland.

North China Plain

The North China Plain is the second largest plain in the mainland, also known as the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain.

It is bounded by Yanshan Mountain in the north, Huaihe River in the south, Taihang Mountain in the west, Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea in the east, with an area of about 300,000 square kilometers.

The North China Plain spans seven provinces and municipalities directly under the central government, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu, and has been an important political, economic, cultural and transportation center since ancient times, and is also the most populous plain on the mainland.

The main water system that flows through the North China Plain

As a typical alluvial plain in the mainland, it is mainly caused by a large amount of sediment deposition carried by the Yellow River, Huai River, Haihe River and Luan River.

The sediment thickness in most places is as high as seven or eight hundred meters, and the thickest places are located in the areas of Kaifeng, Shangqiu, and Xuzhou, and the area of the North China Plain is still expanding.

From the topographic map, the North China Plain is bounded by the Taihang Mountains in the west and the Loess Plateau, so it has often been affected by sandstorms in recent years.

The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River plain

The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Plain refers to the coastal strip plain of the middle and lower reaches east of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.

It spans 7 provinces and cities including Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, with a total area of about 200,000 square kilometers.

From the topographic map, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Plain are mainly composed of six plains: the Jianghan Plain, the Dongting Lake Plain, the Poyang Lake Plain, the Anhui-Jiangsu Yangtze River Plain, the Lixiahe Plain and the Yangtze River Delta Plain.

The river network here is dense, the water is sufficient, the transportation is convenient, suitable for the growth of rice and other crops, so it has the reputation of "the land of fish and rice".

Judging from the renderings, these plains are partially separated from each other by mountain ranges and connected by the Yangtze River.

The natural water system of the Yangtze River and the criss-crossing artificial canals make the area the densest river network in China and the most abundant water resources in China, with the famous Poyang Lake and Dongting Lake being distributed here.

China's three major plains

As one of the five basic terrains of the land, in addition to these three independent plains, there are many plains distributed throughout the country, such as the Guanzhong Plain, the Chengdu Plain, the Hetao Plain and so on.

According to official statistics, the total area of the continental plain is about 1.15 million square kilometers, accounting for 12% of the total land area.
