Sky Sports reporter Seth has some thoughts on Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United this summer. He claims the Red Devils want to keep him in this transfer window.
Marcus Rashford played a key role for Manchester United in the 2022-23 season, helping them win the Carabao Cup and secure a third-place finish in the Premier League.
That season, he scored 30 goals in all competitions to become the club's top scorer, before signing a new five-year contract. However, the England international's form has taken a serious dip last season, scoring just eight goals in all competitions.
With Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal interested in Rashford, Rashford's future at Manchester United is in doubt. However, journalist Dharmesh Sheth is now reporting that Marcus Rashford remains in Ten Hag's plans and the club intend to get him back to his best.
He told Sky Sports: "The message we get is that United's priority at the moment is to get Rashford back to his best. He is still an important part of United's squad and as things stand, he is expected to stay at Old Trafford. "If you recall, he only signed a new five-year contract last summer. This season, he has scored 30 goals in all competitions. Last season was not so good for Rashford. He made 50 appearances for club and country, scoring nine goals. Now, that form means Southgate has decided he won't be part of England's Euro 2024 campaign. But as things stand, he is expected to stay at Manchester United, who are doing everything they can to get him back to that form. Especially his form last season. ”
Manchester United finished 8th in the Premier League last season with 18 wins, 6 draws and 14 defeats.
Former Manchester United star Silvestre has urged United to keep Marcus Rashford
Former Manchester United star Silvestre has urged the Red Devils to keep Marcus Rashford this summer. The Frenchman believes it would be unwise for the club to drop an experienced winger from the Academy.
In January 2016, Rashford was promoted to the first team under former Old Trafford manager Louis van Gaal. During that time, the England international made over 400 appearances, scoring 131 goals and providing 66 assists.
Silvestre emphasised the value of Marcus Rashford and stressed that a player of his caliber is very expensive for United in the transfer market. He said (via London Football Newspaper):
'Letting Rashford go is not the right decision because you need to find someone better than Marcus in the transfer market, if that's the case.' If you find that player, he's going to be worth a lot. Marcus is a veteran Manchester United Academy player. I think he wants to stay. The manager loved him. I just hope Marcus recovers this season. ”
