In the early years of the Three Kingdoms, it was the largest armed force in Youzhou, sitting on the strongest cavalry corps in the world, and once overwhelmed Gongsun Zhan of Yuan Shao in Hebei, a native of Liaoxi Lingzhi, where is this Liaoxi Lingzhi now?
During the Three Kingdoms period, the Liaoxi Lingzhi refers to a part of present-day Hebei Province, including: Qian'an City, Qianxi County, and the northern part of Luan County.
These places formed part of Liaoxi County in ancient times, and Lingzhi County was an important county in it. In different historical periods, the name and administrative division of this area varied.
1. Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period: During the Spring and Autumn Period, Lingzhi was a subject country of Shanrong, and its place was about between Luan County and Qian'an in present-day Hebei. In 664 BC, Lingzhi was destroyed by the Duke of Qi Huan.
2. Qin Dynasty: After the Qin Dynasty unified the six countries, Liaoxi County was set up, and Lingzhi County (also known as Lizhi County) was subordinated to Liaoxi County.
3. Han Dynasty:
During the Han Dynasty, Lingzhi County continued to exist and belonged to Liaoxi County of Youzhou.
The Han Dynasty changed Lizhi County to Lingzhi County.
4. Three Kingdoms Period: During the Wei period of the Three Kingdoms, Lingzhi County was incorporated into Feiru County by the province, but it still belonged to Liaoxi County.
5. From the Western Jin Dynasty to the Sixteen Kingdoms:
During the Yongjia period of the Western Jin Dynasty, the Xianbei section of Liaoxi was the capital here.
Qianyan relocated Lingzhi County, and Qianyan and Houyan were the administrative offices of Liaoxi County.
6. Northern Wei Dynasty: In the seventh year of Taiping Zhenjun (446 AD), Lingzhi County was merged into Yangle County.
7. Liao Dynasty: In the second year of Liao Tianzan (923), the captive households of Anxi migrated from Dingzhou and settled in the current Qian'an land, called Anxi County, which may mean that the name of Lingzhi County is no longer used.
Over time, the administrative division of this region has undergone several changes, but the general geographical location has remained the same, that is, it is located in the eastern part of Hebei Province, near the border of Liaoning Province, and at the junction of the North China Plain and the Yanshan Mountains. In modern times, this area falls under the jurisdiction of the city of Tangshan.
