When Ms. Zhang was using the tablet that day, she suddenly received a strange FaceTime call from a person claiming to be a customer service of a loan software, reminding Ms. Zhang that she had signed an electronic agreement with the loan software, and that failure to cancel it in time might affect the credit investigation.
In order to prove the authenticity, the other party also used the "People's Bank of China Credit Information Center" email account to send Ms. Zhang an email, the content of which was the electronic agreement signed between Ms. Zhang and the loan platform. Ms. Zhang repeatedly shouted injustice and swore that she had not borrowed money on the platform, so the customer service reminded her that her identity information might be fraudulently used and that she must cancel her account as soon as possible.
Ms. Zhang was preparing to buy a house recently, and she was worried that it would really affect her personal credit information, so she downloaded a software called "ZOOM" for screen sharing according to the other party's request.
After some operations, Ms. Zhang received a text message of more than 1.63 million yuan in her bank card. In a panic, she immediately questioned the customer service, who provided a so-called China Banking Regulatory Commission certified account, saying that this account could help solve the problem of the electronic agreement of the loan platform and return the money. When Ms. Zhang entered the "verification code" provided by the other party, she found that the 6-digit "verification code" was actually converted to the transfer amount. Ms. Zhang, who realized that something was wrong, hung up the other party as soon as possible and called the police.
The police raced against time to take Ms. Zhang to the bank to track the flow of funds and apply for the initiation of an emergency freezing and payment stop procedure. According to the bank staff's inquiry, it was actually a current deposit of more than 1.63 million yuan that was transferred to Ms. Zhang's fixed account after being instructed by the scammer to "operate a meal", and was not transferred away by the scammer. For the sake of safety, the bank staff reset the payment password and online banking login password for Ms. Zhang, and Ms. Zhang let go of her heart and thanked the police and bank staff again and again.
There is a security risk when it is recorded by video
to turn off the relevant function
Fraudsters send FaceTime invitations pretending to be customer service of financial platforms, claiming that there is a problem with the victim's financial account, and if it is not dealt with in time, it will affect their credit investigation and create psychological panic for the victim.
After that, guide the victim to join various online video conferences, turn on the real-time screen sharing function, open unknown URLs to contact online customer service, trick the victim into transferring money to a designated account, or guide the victim to take out a loan from a bank or other online lending platform, promising that the money will be returned after the fund is reviewed, and when the transfer is completed, the victim will be blocked and lost.
Wang Yehua of the Criminal Investigation Corps of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau reminded that when sharing the screen, criminals can not only obtain some personal information on the face, but also obtain various information such as bank card account numbers, passwords, verification codes and other information that you operate on your mobile phone. So when using shareware, you must be cautious.
