Inherit intangible cultural heritage skills and help revitalize rural areas. In this year's new youth to the countryside activities, teachers and students of Wuhan Textile University came to Xiangshan Village, Cangbu Street, Xinzhou District, to experience the unique charm of Han embroidery with the villagers.
The Han embroidery inheritance practice team of Wuhan Textile University is composed of outstanding teachers, non-hereditary inheritors and a group of "post-00s" students. Since July, they have taken advantage of the holidays to come to Xiangshan Village, Cangbu Street, Xinzhou District, to introduce the Han embroidery intangible cultural heritage project. Teachers and students designed embroidery drafts for the villagers at different basic levels, and taught them basic stitching methods such as flat needles, roller needles, and lock needles by hand. After studying, most of the villagers have completed a Chinese embroidery work.
Wang Shiping, a third-year student at the Fashion College of Wuhan Textile University:
"Let the villagers never understand Han embroidery, to understand Han embroidery, and then love Han embroidery, apply Han embroidery to daily life, and can achieve some economic benefits."
The students processed these works into decorative paintings, tuan fans, necklaces and other handicrafts, which were displayed in the "Youth Home" in the village
Hu Guixiang, a villager in Xiangshan Village, Cangbu Street, Xinzhou District:
"I didn't know any of these things before, and they let me do it myself and finish my own work. Now that my works are here, I feel very happy and grateful to them for letting me know Han embroidery. I will introduce Han embroidery to our neighbors, relatives and friends, so that they also know and like Han embroidery. ”
Next, Wuhan textile masters and students will also go to more villages, communities and schools to display their design and embroidery of "red memory", "nine-headed bird", "melon and puff" and other characteristic Han embroidery works, driving more people to practice together, so that Han embroidery can promote the cultural development of beautiful villages.
Ye Hongguang, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Fashion of Wuhan Textile University:
"Teachers, students and villagers pair up to learn our traditional handicrafts and traditional culture, to make some fashionable, rich and market-oriented products, we will also bring them into primary and secondary schools, as long as we continue to do these work, it will definitely produce very good results."
