After many years of F4 discontinuation, MV Agusta finally launched a new top-of-the-line four-cylinder replica Superveloce 1000 Series Oro, as another model of Superveloce retro imitation, Superveloce 1000 Series Oro can be called the top flagship, this car is limited to 500 units worldwide, and the price of the United Kingdom is 61, 400 pounds (equivalent to about 570,000 yuan), the price in Germany is 68,600 euros, and Austria is 82,000 euros. Even if the price is not cheap, 60% of the limited 500 units have been sold, and the remaining 200 units will be distributed to stores around the world, and it is said that there are only 10 units in Australia, of which 5 have been sold, so it is unknown how many places there will be in the domestic market.
The exterior design of the Superveloce 1000 Series Oro is inspired by the 1972 GP500, which is the first motorcycle to adopt a fixed wind wing, much earlier than the popular fixed wind wing design in MotoGP. This shows that the designers of MV Agusta at that time had a very forward-looking design idea. The Superveloce 1000 Series Oro's paint suit is actually a nod to the GP500.
At the same time, the exterior design of the Superveloce 1000 Series Oro also incorporates the F4 750 design elements of the year, such as the 4 exhausts under the seats, the five-star shape of the wheels, etc., so that this car has a lot of aerodynamic design while not losing the retro beauty, and these design inspirations spanning 50 years of history collided, and finally gave birth to the Superveloce 1000 Series Oro, which can be called a work of art.
The Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro is powered by a 999cc inline-four engine with a compression ratio of 13.4:1, a maximum power of 153kw (208Ps)/13,000rpm, a maximum torque of 116.5Nm at 11,000rpm, and a maximum horsepower of 212hp if the racing package is installed. This high-performance engine, equipped with 16 radially arranged titanium valves, titanium connecting rods, DLC-coated parts and an integrated ignition injection system MVICS 2.1 (Integrated Control System for Motor Vehicles), is on par with the world's top four-cylinder replica engines.
MV Agusta, a pioneer in motorcycle wings, designed the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro with a pair of wings that generate 39.2 kg of downforce at 320 km/h. In addition, on the lower fairing of the engine, there is also a spoiler, which not only generates some downforce, but also helps to exhaust hot air, which is said to reduce the temperature of the engine oil by 3.1°C.
The equipment is even more dazzling, with eight levels of adjustable traction control, launch control, cruise control, cornering ABS, all of which can be operated by a 5.5-inch TFT color gauge. In addition to that, there's an Ohlins Nix EC inverted fork that's fully adjustable, with electronic compression and rebound management, except that the spring preload adjustment is manual, and the rear shock is also an electronically controlled Ohlins EC TTX, and there's also an Ohlins electronic steering damper. It features 320mm discs and Brembo Stylema calipers, which also offer master cylinders.
The five-star forged alloy wheels, specially designed for the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro, are not retro with five red steel wire embellishments. The exhaust system inherits F4's signature quad exhaust design, but also offers a certified Arrow titanium exhaust with simple round taillights, giving the rear end a clean and sleek look.
As with every MV Agusta limited edition model, the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro comes with a dedicated motorcycle kit that includes the bike's certificate of authenticity and origin (numbered the same as the vehicle) and a special motorcycle cover to protect the bike when parked. Then there's the Alcantara passenger seat, passenger footrest and stand, carbon fibre passenger heel guard, CNC-machined brake lever and clutch lever, rocker pin height adjustment plate.
MV Agusta, which was once deeply involved in acquisition rumors, seems to be doing much better after being acquired by KTM, as evidenced by the launch of the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro, and there are still a number of new cars to be released. Of course, this car is not only a limited edition, but also a regular version of the model with a lower threshold will be launched in the future.
