The first report, the last goodbye

Today's article comes from a "post-00" reporter who has just joined the Financial Media Center of Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. Two days before her first major breaking story was covered, her father left her forever. She contributed to the "I am on the spot" column of the WeChat public account of the China Journalists Association, telling the story of her, her father, and the scene of the emergency. This article, she hopes that her heavenly father will be able to see it. This column is a long-term solicitation of papers, and the solicitation information is attached at the end of the article.

I was on the spot for the first time and said goodbye for the last time

The author of this article is Yang Yuxin

"You girl who can't sit still, you want to be a reporter happily in the future."

On June 16, before the hospital bed, my father's life had entered the countdown. He took my hand, trembling slightly, and recalled to me when I was successfully admitted to work as a journalist after graduating from university.

Turning my head, I burst into tears.

On the afternoon of June 18, Dad left.

Since June 20, the whole area of Jingdezhen has suffered continuous heavy precipitation.

For a time, the rain was urgent, the flood was fierce, and the disaster was severe, and all the reporters in the interview department of the Jingdezhen Rong Media Center, where I worked, applied to go to the front line of flood control.

"There's such a big thing going on at home, don't go!" Considering the major changes in my family, the leaders of the unit asked me to take leave to go home many times.

In the midst of my grief, I calmed down and thought about my father's words repeatedly. - He wants me to be happy, and he wants me to do my duty and be a good journalist.

I replied to the leader: "Being on the front line as a journalist is what my father wants to see. ”

"Be sure to keep yourself safe."

"Roger, thank you, leader."

I first went to the Municipal Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.

The Municipal Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters is the core hub of the city's flood control work. 24 hours a day, uninterrupted weather monitoring, precipitation forecasts, water conditions, flood warnings, climate predictions and other first-hand flood control information gathered here from all directions.

The first report, the last goodbye

In the city prevention refers to the immediate follow-up and interview of the latest flood information.

After coming here, I dug out the information that should be conveyed to the public in the massive rain and water information, and released relevant forecasts on media platforms as soon as possible, so as to ensure the timely and transparent flood control information to the greatest extent.

On June 25, we received news that due to the heavy rain, a local roadbed collapsed between Jingdezhen Station and Jingdezhen South Station of the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway.

The Anhui-Jiangxi Railway, which runs through southern Anhui and northeast Jiangxi, is an important freight channel in East China. The interruption of the line caused by the collapse of the roadbed will cause a lot of pressure on the bulk logistics turnover in Jingdezhen, Shangrao, Yingtan and other places.

My camera teacher and I immediately drove to the scene.

Approaching a dangerous area, the road is closed and vehicles cannot move forward. The situation was urgent, so we didn't wear rain boots and took our camera equipment to the muddy road.

The first report, the last goodbye

The scene of the collapse of the roadbed of the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway.

The situation at the scene is not optimistic - from the periphery, we can see that the section of the road where the collapse is in danger of softening the rainwater on one side of the mountain, and on the other side is the river that is more turbulent due to flooding. The water content of the entire slope is close to saturation, like a pot of boiling porridge, and the muddy muddy water is bubbling out.

The on-site staff told us that the entire slope must first be fixed to avoid a wider collapse.

The torrential rain continues, the collapse continues, the muddy muddy water is constantly surging, and the foot of the mountain is about to topple, which makes people feel nervous.

"Hold on and don't back down." I remembered my father's request again, stayed at the scene, and waited for things to turn around-

Soon, large trucks carrying steel pipes and flakes of stone arrived one after another, and the forearms of the excavator waved back and forth, and pieces of stones weighing dozens or hundreds of kilograms were accurately thrown at the designated position; With the assistance of human labor, steel pipes up to 6 meters long were piled into the bottom of the slope one after another......

At 12 o'clock on July 1, after 148 hours of uninterrupted repair, the local roadbed collapse danger between Jingdezhen Station and Jingdezhen South Station of the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway was effectively controlled, and the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway resumed operation on the whole line.

In July, the weather cleared, the flood waters receded, and the pressure on flood control was also reduced, and the report on this major disaster was nearing its end.

As a "post-00s" reporter, this is the first time I have participated in the coverage of major emergencies. At the scene, I saw the strong and optimistic people affected by the disaster, the rescue team members who rushed to the front, and the grassroots workers who gave their selfless...... Their figures lingered in my mind for a long time.

The first report, the last goodbye

Rescuers are moving trapped people.

After the nervous report, I sat quietly in the office alone, and an inexplicable emotion suddenly came to my heart.

I remember that when my father was still there, every time I came home after going out to the scene, I would always share with my father what new things I met and what interesting people I interviewed today......

Digesting this emotion alone, I couldn't help but hear in my ears what my father said to me before the hospital bed.

"Dad thought at the time, why did you choose the job of a reporter who wore the stars and the moon, exposed to the sun and rain? But then I was relieved to see how happy you were. You've been a kid with a lot of ideas since you were a kid. It's a rare thing to be able to do a job that gives you happiness and fulfillment. ”

"In the future, Dad may never hear you tell the story in the interview again, but the job of a journalist must be taken seriously, and he must go on with determination and happiness."

……

The loss of a loved one is not a momentary rainstorm, but a lifetime of dampness. In this long dampness, the endless confidence you once gave me turned into the courage to stride forward. The story of the interview, you can't hear, but this article, hopefully you can see it in the sky.

Don't worry, I will definitely go down the road of journalists.
