Shen Shen (pseudonym), a 3-year-old boy, was diagnosed with autism. Shenshen's main surrogate is his grandmother, because the intervention time is early, and the grandmother accompanies the whole intervention process. Grandma has a certain knowledge of early intervention, and will communicate with Shenshen at home. When I came to the institution, whether it was a personal training or a social activity, the whole person was in a dull state and his eyes were blank. No language, no social interaction, no eye contact... The whole person is like a blank sheet of paper. But fortunately, there is no self-stimulation behavior, and the mood has been relatively stable.
After entering the institution, the teachers evaluated Shenshen and formulated a targeted teaching plan. In daily teaching, it was found that Shenshen paid less attention to people, paid little attention to the behavior of his peers or initiated communication, and paid almost no attention to other people's eye contact, and paid more attention to things than people. Communication is relatively simple, and it is only manifested in the communication behavior of using gestures to ask for help.
In response to a series of situations in Shenshen, we first helped him establish an emotional connection with the teacher through enjoyable game activities to improve his awareness of interaction. As a result, the pace of our teaching is very slow, and the game activities are simple, fun and regular. Through the feelings that Shen Shen likes, we provide game teaching aids for such feelings to help Shen Shen build trust with his teachers. In the game, Shenshen will feel oppressed by brightly colored and colorful items, and the whole person will have very large mood swings, mania, and cry loudly. For this reason, the teacher changes the game situation but does not change the game teaching aids, so as to gradually desensitize Shenshen to Shenshen. Slowly, the sense of space is much better, and the mood gradually returns to calm. We interact with her through tactile games, competitive games, cooperative games, and physical interaction games, gradually enhancing his attention and interest in people, and building a good relationship. Gradually, teachers and their parents have found that Shenshen's eye following is much better, and he can have eye interaction with teachers and classmates. There is no resistance when playing games, and it can be seen from his independent laughter that Shenshen has not only improved greatly, but also likes the teachers and peers of the institution more and more. At noon, I didn't eat a bite before, but now I not only eat with my mouth open, but also eat very fragrant and happy. Through everyone's continuous efforts, Shenshen is able to use his eyes and body movements to communicate with the teacher independently, and the frequency is slowly increasing.
