Audi said that the main reason for this change is consumer feedback on the design of existing models, and it is understood that Audi has been criticized for using four fully enclosed plastic pipes on the diesel S4, S6 and SQ5 models, with the real exhaust pipe hidden under the rear bumper.

At the launch of the new A5 and S5, an Audi spokesperson confirmed: "All models based on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform will be equipped with authentic, functional exhaust pipes. ”
