As the pioneer of China's new cultural movement, he was the first to introduce Western oil painting, piano, drama, etc. into China, and is famous for his good calligraphy, gongshi poetry, Tongdanqing, Da Yin rhythm, fine stone, and good performing arts.
This "Seven Words of Xingshu" is from the "Huayan Sutra • Lushena Buddha Product": "Cultivate the good Dharma in the Buddhas, and transform sentient beings with the supreme way." "Hongyi teachers and students in the era of the great prosperity of stele learning, the first to learn "Zhang Menglong stele", and then the first Qin Jinwen, stone drums, tile, mud seals, Han and Wei dynasties of the bamboo slips, cliff steles are all involved, and gradually walk into the calligraphy hall. The rhythm of the lines is added to the straight strokes of the work, which is the application of Lishu Wei tablet penmanship in his calligraphy, which greatly enriches the expressiveness of the ink line. The points in his books are mellow and connotative, never rigid, caring for affection, absolutely like Zen masters, wandering in the sky, not like ordinary things. The font is novel, although the characters originate from the tradition, but they do not fall into the ancient mud, and the personality is obvious. Lao Tzu said that "do nothing and do everything", and Master Hongyi's book is selfless and omniscient. If his words are viewed in the eyes of Buddhism, they both originate from and transcend the world.
Master Hongyi's works will be simple and heavy in the rush and calm, not agitated, clumsy, back to the basics, the end away from hypocrisy, impetuous and pretentious, return to the frankness of human nature, the heart into the calligraphy lines, with the ups and downs of the pen and ink turn, "can give comfort to the lost, dull to sensitive, cowardly to courage, empty to full, restless to calm, hot to cool, decadent to cheer up, addicted to the law."
