Shuicheng peasant paintings are widely loved for their artistic characteristics of "natural and pure, splendid and lively". However, in the past few years, many creators have not only been "speechless" when they encounter infringement, but also copied and sold their hard-working works online at low prices. In the past two years, the creators have not only "reasoned clearly", but also found other ways to earn money other than selling paintings, and their creative passion has been high, where does the change come from?

Recently, Xu Chengbo, the creator of the Shuicheng peasant painting, was putting the finishing touches on his work "Festive Costumes". Next month, the work will be exhibited at the National Peasant Painting Exhibition.

Xu Chengbo told reporters that before, his peasant paintings were often copied, so that his works were used arbitrarily. "In the past, after they took it to copy, when we looked for them, he said that only you can draw peasant paintings, only you can draw small flower seedlings. I can't argue, I can't help it. ”

Rooted in the thick ethnic and folk culture of Shuicheng, Shuicheng peasant paintings draw on artistic nourishment such as batik, paper-cutting, and national costumes, and mainly depict folk customs, landscapes and villages, labor scenes, and life scenes. Exaggerated distortion, bright colors, and liveliness are the main characteristics of Shuicheng peasant paintings. Shuicheng is also known as the "hometown of modern Chinese folk painting" and "the hometown of Chinese folk culture and art". At present, there are more than 300 related creators.

In recent years, Shuicheng District has effectively combined intangible cultural heritage inheritance with development and innovation to promote farmers' income and promote the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas. However, the copyright of the relevant creative subjects has not been effectively protected, which has become a bottleneck in the development and utilization of peasant paintings in Shuicheng.

"The works of the painters we signed up with were put on the Internet by online merchants for sale, and some of them could buy a batch of peasant painting materials for a few dollars, which hit the enthusiasm of the painters very much." Deng Haixia, deputy general manager of Guizhou Yelangfeng Culture Co., Ltd., said that at present, the company has signed a total of 12 painters, and there is some helplessness to protect their rights.

The transformation came from 2019, when the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Copyright Bureau launched the "Colorful Guizhou Ethnic and Folk Culture Copyright Service Project" to register ethnic and folk copyright works for free. Copyright owners can register their copyrights free of charge through the Guizhou Provincial Copyright Registration Platform. Within 15 working days after the completion of registration, the copyright owner can not only obtain the work registration certificate issued by the Copyright Office, but also obtain the corresponding blockchain certificate of deposit. Such a "double certificate" registration model is the first in the country.

Yang Jiabao, commercial director of Guizhou Zhongyun Copyright Technology Co., Ltd., said: "From the beginning of the creation of the work to the completion of the work, every step of the creative process of the copyright owner can be uploaded to our platform at any time for storage, and obtain a blockchain digital evidence preservation certificate with fairness and fairness, and form a complete evidence chain with the work registration certificate." ”

Yang Jiabao said that if infringement occurs in the later stage, the copyright owner can provide the blockchain certificate of preservation to the court, and use the complete and sufficient evidence chain of the double certificate to protect their copyright rights to the greatest extent.

Through the Guizhou Provincial Copyright Registration Platform, Xu Chengbo has registered more than 400 peasant paintings created by himself, while Guizhou Yelangfeng Culture Company has registered the copyright of more than 2,960 peasant paintings by the company's contracted artists.

In addition to copyright registration, the Guizhou Provincial Copyright Registration Platform also uses advanced technologies such as crawlers and video fingerprint comparison to provide copyright institutions and rights holders with monitoring services for works on the Internet, and has served 1,200 video works including "Eight Hundred", "The Wandering Earth 2" and "Man Jianghong".

Shao Wei, deputy director of the platform operation department of Guizhou Zhongyun Copyright Technology Co., Ltd., said: "Through in-depth analysis of the target video, the copyright cloud monitoring system extracts the feature information that can represent the video content, compares it with the fingerprint information in the database, and determines whether the target video is suspected of infringement according to various algorithms such as similar attributes and similar content of the work. It contains the infringing target address, IP, and channel, etc. ”

Realize the transformation from selling paintings in the past to selling copyrights.

"We're going to have a theme design or some [peasant paintings] that meet their needs to be licensed. In this event, 40% of the revenue will be attributable to our company's operating expenses, and 60% will be given to our specific artists. Xu Yuan, general manager of Guizhou Yelangfeng Culture Co., Ltd., told reporters that through copyright protection, these painters have opened up a way to obtain economy, and everyone is willing to share good works.
