As an important technology and basic equipment for building a new power system, new energy storage is a key support for achieving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) clearly pointed out that promoting carbon peak and carbon neutrality is not only an inevitable requirement for promoting green and low-carbon development and building a beautiful China, but also an important embodiment of practicing the concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and building a modern era of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
On July 24, under the guidance of the Foshan Municipal Development and Reform Bureau, the Nanhai District Development and Reform Bureau of Foshan City and the People's Government of Danzao Town, the "Danzao Xing" activity of the normalized service activity of the new energy storage industry chain in Nanhai District was held in Danzao Town. At the event site, three new energy industry projects were signed and landed in Danzao, with a total investment of more than 2 billion yuan.
The event also specially invited professionals from the provincial power trading center and municipal and district-level power supply departments to attend the event. They not only deeply meet the needs of enterprises, but also preach and answer the doubts and problems of energy conservation and electricity consumption of enterprises on the spot, guide enterprises to use electricity efficiently, and provide a series of solutions for energy saving, cost reduction and efficiency increase.
The holding of this signing event is an important measure for Nanhai District to implement the national, provincial and municipal measures on cultivating and developing new quality productivity and implementing the normalized service of the industrial chain. The implementation of these projects will form a strong supplement to the energy storage industry chain in the South China Sea, further meet the energy needs of enterprises in the jurisdiction, and help enterprises achieve green and low-carbon transformation and high-quality development.
A number of new energy projects have landed in Danzao
Under the wave of a new round of power system reform, the new energy storage industry has become the core force to build the energy Internet and promote the development of new energy formats. The mainland is vigorously promoting the "dual carbon" policy, and has clearly proposed to build an emerging power system with new energy sources such as photovoltaic and wind power as the main body in the future.
Energy storage is an important starting point to solve the high proportion of new energy grid-connected consumption, and new energy storage is an important equipment foundation and key supporting technology for building a new power system and promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of energy.
Nanhai District once again ushered in the signing of three new energy projects, which not only shows that the Nanhai energy storage market is optimistic about the majority of enterprises, but also fully demonstrates the confidence and determination of Nanhai District to promote the high-quality development of new energy storage industry.

Danzao Town, as an important industrial town and a large town for electricity and energy, has a particularly strong demand for photovoltaic energy storage. The three projects that have landed this time are: the 200MW/400MWH independent energy storage cooperation project in Danzao Town, the comprehensive energy management center project in Danzao Town, and the 26 MW distributed photovoltaic power generation project of Foshan Danzao Shihai Steel Logistics Base Co., Ltd. After the completion of these projects, they will further improve the reliability and quality of power supply in the regional power grid, greatly reduce the electricity cost of enterprises, help Nanhai District achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", promote the orderly replacement of traditional energy, and promote the coordinated and sustainable development of energy and ecology.
So, why can the South China Sea become the "sweet spot" of energy storage projects? This is mainly due to the growing demand for new energy from industrial and commercial enterprises in the South China Sea. Nanhai District has gathered 50,500 industrial enterprises, and the demand for industrial energy is huge. According to statistics, from January to June 2024, the industrial electricity consumption in Nanhai District increased by 4.65% year-on-year, showing its vast market demand and great potential for the development of new energy.
On the other hand, the development of new energy storage in the South China Sea has also received strong support from the government. Nanhai District has introduced a series of support measures to promote the development of new energy storage power stations, and actively plays the role of "shop second" in business environment optimization, technology research and development support, supply and demand docking services, etc., providing enterprises with a full range of services and support.
Build a docking platform to help enterprises explore ways to save energy and reduce costs
In August last year, Nanhai District officially issued the "Work Plan for the Normalization of Services for Key Industrial Chains", which clearly stated that it would establish a normalized industrial chain service working mechanism for 18 advantageous industries around six core aspects, including supply and demand docking, precise investment promotion, strengthening enterprises, scientific and technological innovation, factor support, and optimizing the environment, so as to promote the high-quality development of the private economy. Among them, the new energy storage industry has been included in one of the key industrial chains of normalized service guarantee, which has attracted much attention.
In order to achieve the "double carbon" goal and promote enterprises to accelerate energy conservation and carbon reduction, transformation and upgrading, as well as technology update and iteration, this event specially built an information exchange and supply and demand docking platform. Through this platform, advanced energy-saving and energy storage technologies can be shared with more large energy users, helping them achieve green and low-carbon transformation.
At the event site, experts from Foshan Power Supply Bureau of Guangdong Power Grid were invited to share the theme of "Electricity Fee Composition and Energy-saving Case Analysis of Energy-using Enterprises", bringing energy-saving suggestions to enterprises; Experts from the Guangdong Electric Power Trading Center shared the theme of "Electricity Sales Industry and Suggestions for Selecting Electricity Sales Companies", aiming to increase enterprises' understanding of different electricity sales models. In addition, representatives of Guangdong Power Grid Energy Investment Co., Ltd. also shared the theme of "Comprehensive Solutions for Zero-carbon Parks", aiming to let more enterprises understand the solutions for zero-carbon parks.

"From July to September, the government began to implement the peak pricing policy, if enterprises can combine their own actual conditions, the production structure, production shifts to make reasonable adjustments, is expected to greatly reduce the cost of energy." Dong Pinggui, an electricity bill expert at the Foshan Power Supply Bureau of Guangdong Power Grid, suggested.
At the same time, Huawei Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd. brought intelligent optical storage supercharging solutions, Beijing Qingneng Interconnection Technology Co., Ltd. brought intelligent cloud storage virtual power plant solutions, Jiangsu Weiheng Intelligent Co., Ltd. brought industrial and commercial energy storage cooperation models, and Foshan Xinxunshi Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd. brought digital energy air compressor station solutions. These new energy storage technology presentations for enterprises aim to help enterprises choose energy-saving and cost-reduction models that are more in line with their own needs and the pace of enterprise development, so as to help enterprises achieve green and low-carbon transformation.

As one of the important clusters for the development of Guangdong's new energy industry, Foshan has developed the energy storage industry earlier and has a relatively complete layout of the industrial chain. At present, there are more than 100 new energy storage-related enterprises in Foshan, covering electrochemistry, energy storage, hydrogen energy storage, flywheel energy storage and other fields, with a total investment of more than 150 billion. In addition, there are 21 key projects for new energy storage and new manufacturing projects under construction. After long-term exploration and practice, the South China Sea has achieved remarkable results in new energy storage, and the whole region has basically formed a relatively complete industrial chain covering upstream battery materials and energy storage battery production, midstream energy storage system integration, downstream energy storage power station investment and operation, and terminal product recycling.
