Yibin Wanpeng Times Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Economic Development Zone of Pingshan County, is an enterprise in the upstream of the whole power battery industry chain, specializing in the research and development, production, sales and service of lithium iron phosphate cathode materials. Lithium iron phosphate cathode materials are produced by combining raw materials composed of iron phosphate, lithium carbonate, glucose, etc., through sanding, spraying, sintering, gas crushing and other processes.

Zhang Jinbo, general manager of Yibin Wanpeng Times Technology Co., Ltd., said that the company is currently trying to produce a WF05 low-temperature rate cathode material product, which can achieve a capacity retention rate of more than 75% at a low temperature of minus 20 degrees, while the conventional iron-lithium battery cells are only about 35% to 45% at this temperature, and the higher the capacity retention rate at low temperatures, the better the stability of the battery. It is understood that the WF05 low-temperature rate product has entered the product evaluation stage after trial production, and it is planned to achieve mass production during the 2024 World Power Battery Conference.

According to the data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, in May 2024, the installed volume of lithium iron phosphate batteries will be 29.5GWh, a year-on-year increase of 54.1%, accounting for 74.0% of the total installed volume, and the market share of lithium iron phosphate batteries will exceed 70%. In addition, in the field of energy storage, according to the statistics of Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance, lithium iron phosphate batteries are the main energy storage batteries, accounting for 94.4%. Zhang Jinbo said that in the second half of the year, their main work is to consolidate the organization and team, optimize the formula and optimize the production process around the two themes of quality improvement and cost reduction.
