Hello everyone!
In the first half of this year, 2.99 million pure electric vehicles were sold, with a growth rate of 11.6%, and 1.94 million plug-in hybrid vehicles were sold, although there were not as many pure electric models, but the growth rate was as high as 85%. Plug-in hybrid vehicles without range anxiety are rising rapidly.
Today, our protagonist is a new plug-in hybrid model from Lynk & Co - Lynk & Co 07 EM-P, which was just launched in May, with 3 configurations and 169,800-189,800. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of this car, and is it a good choice in the fierce competition?
Precise positioning and filling in gaps
Although the growth rate of plug-in hybrid vehicles is very fast, it is mainly driven by two brands, one is BYD, 798 and 998 cars, which are responsible for the growth of plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The other is the ideal, from L6 to L9, not only each car is a hit, but also drove a group of followers, and a lot of "ideal replacement" has emerged on the market for a while, and these cars are basically plug-in hybrid power.
However, 798/998, the texture is slightly worse; The Han DM-i further up is a little old-fashioned; The Ideal L series is on the high side, and the main product is a 6/7-seater product that can fit the whole family.
The most common form of family in China is actually a family of three. For young people, 15-200,000 plug-in hybrid cars, there are almost no other options on the market except for Lynk & Co 07 EM-P, and this is the market positioning of Lynk & Co 07 EM-P.
What are the highlights?
Plug-and-mix system
Power and fuel economy at the same time
There are two main types of plug-in hybrid vehicles, one is that the engine can drive the wheels directly; One is that the engine only serves as a generator and does not drive the wheels directly, which is also called a range extender.
The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P is equipped with a hybrid called Super Range Extender System, but don't be mistaken by the name, although it is called Super Range Extender, the engine can drive the wheels directly.
If you want to improve the efficiency of the plug-in hybrid system, you can't do without an efficient engine, and traditional car companies obviously have more advantages in this regard. Like Geely, it has more than 20 years of accumulation in the field of engines.
In contrast, the engines used as range extenders by new power car companies are generally bought, and they do not have much experience in the coordination and matching of engines and motors, so most of them choose the technically relatively simple range extenders.
Let's talk about the power system of Lynk & Co 07 EM-P, which is composed of a 1.5T four-cylinder engine + 3-speed DHT. The engine has a maximum thermal efficiency of 44.26%, a maximum power of 163 horsepower, and a maximum of 218 horsepower of the motor, which can achieve 06.5 seconds of acceleration under the combined output of the two.
This kind of acceleration performance is easy for everyday use in a variety of scenarios.
In addition, the gearbox of 3DHT is also a highlight, most of the models of the same level only have a single-speed gearbox, and the advantage of 3DHT is that the speed ratio is more reasonable, on the one hand, it can reduce the engine speed through upshifting, so that fuel consumption is lower. When you need power, you can also quickly downshift to make the power more sufficient, especially when overtaking at high speeds, the performance of 3DHT will be more confident than that of single-speed gearbox models.
Some people may say that since there are so many benefits of 3DHT, why are there not many friends using it? This is mainly a matter of cost, compared to a single-speed gearbox, the cost of 3DHT is much higher.
The efficient engine coupled with the 3DHT system makes the whole vehicle very efficient. During our one-week test drive, the average speed was only 20km/h, the air conditioning was kept at 20 degrees, and the final average fuel consumption was 5.2L/100km, which was a very good level.
The body is not big, and the space is not small
Although the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P is positioned as a mid-level car, the length of the car is actually not long, only 4827mm, while the Camry, Passat, etc., which are also mid-level cars, are more than 4.9 meters long.
But this does not mean that the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P has a small space, although the body is not long, but the wheelbase has reached 2871mm. With a height of 178cm, I can still have two fists in the back leg after adjusting the position of the front row. The overall space performance is on par with that of the JV mid-level car.
It is worth mentioning that the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P not only has a lot of space, but also has a very good seat comfort. First of all, the seat cushion is long enough, and the 178cm leg support is very good.
Secondly, the seat material is very good, using a mix of perforated leather and suede, and the softness and hardness are moderate.
Again, the backrest angle is appropriate, many sedans that focus on appearance and performance, the rear backrest is steep and straight, and the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P rear backrest tilt angle is more appropriate. In addition, the rear seat cushion has an upward angle, and the overall sitting position is more ergonomic.
The details are designed with great care
During the test drive for a few days, there were a few details that I felt very careful about.
The first one is a frameless door + frameless rearview mirror, which greatly improves the design and appearance of the whole vehicle. It is also obvious that this car is designed for young people.
The second is the translucent visor, which is very dazzling when you put down the visor to block your view and lift the visor, which must have been the experience of many friends. The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P is given a translucent visor that is equivalent to wearing sunglasses. This design is not the first time that the Geely family has appeared, although it does not cost too much, but it is practical and intimate, and it is recommended that other car companies can also learn from it.
The third is a glasses case with great texture and design. Glasses cases, handles and other details show a car's sense of design and quality.
The glasses case of the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P is placed above the side of the main driver, and the design of leather and two rivets is very careful and detailed.
The fourth is the charging panel that blows directly from the air outlet of the air conditioner. In the recent sauna days in Beijing, wireless charging with heat dissipation was a necessity. The wireless charging panel of the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P does not have ventilation function, but the air conditioning vent is just right to blow directly into the charging phone. In terms of air volume, it is much larger than the air blown by the heat dissipator. The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P's wireless charging doesn't come with heat dissipation, but it beats heat dissipation.
Two points need to be improved
Of course, having said all these advantages, we also found a few things that need to be improved. The first is that wireless charging is only given to one, and the function of wireless fast charging, we think that the main and co-driver should be equally right, and give two.
The second is the slow charging speed, the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P is only equipped with a 18.99-degree battery pack, and the CLTC pure electric range is 126km. It stands to reason that such a small battery pack should be fully charged quickly, but the charging speed we measured was only 26.8kW.
In fact, slow charging is a common problem in today's plug-in hybrid vehicles, and the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P, which is close to 30kW, is actually the fastest among competing products. However, compared to the expectations of car owners, it is still on the slow side.
Because in the simple cognition of many car owners, plug-in hybrid vehicles with only 10 degrees and 20 degrees of battery packs should charge faster than pure electric vehicles with dozens of degrees of battery packs. But in fact, if you really go to charge, often the pure electric car on the side is washed away, and the plug-in hybrid car with a much smaller battery pack is still charging slowly.
Therefore, not only the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P, but also the whole industry can pay attention to the pain point of slow charging of plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Write at the end
We always say that "choice is more important than hard work", and the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P not only chose a precise market positioning, but also worked very hard in terms of product strength. Because it was only launched in May, June was its first full sales month, with more than 5,200 units sold in June. That's quite a result.
Moreover, since it is still in the stage of ramp-up of production capacity, this sales volume does not fully represent the market performance of the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P.
Finally, what do you think of the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P? Welcome to leave a message to discuss.
